Looks like Loic Bade is signing for us. Not sure what to make of this one.
He’s not had a game for 18th place Nottingham Forest since moving to them on loan from Rennes, so match fitness could be a question.
Suppose he would be a replacement for Marcao and all for bringing in younger players with potential, but hope we bring someone more experienced in as well.
In our situation though he’s a new player and we need them and hope it works out for him and he ends up being another gem from the French league!
ah this article (no idea how reliable) actually says its just basically a delayed purchase for 12m euros. not an option.
“Sevilla will actually pick up a similar deal to the one that Forest had Bade on. They will loan him for the remainder of the campaign and then sign him for £12 million in the summer.”
Highly touted a year ago after his season at Lens. Looking at his TM profile, he started regularly for Rennes, then succumbed to an adductor injury for the rest of the year. I’m not sure why he wasn’t getting minutes with Forest, but at least he played in a few friendlies earlier this month.
Really interested in how this window will pan out. I don’t expect many moves, but Isco is already gone, Januzaj is most likely heading elsewhere, and it might be the same for Dolberg as well. (Damn, all summer signings too? ) It would likely make room for an attacker to Sampaoli’s liking, and hopefully another CM, as that area of the pitch will make the most impact.
Not directly related to us, but Cody Gakpo is transferring to Liverpool - it’s a huge blow for PSV unless they’ll be able to find a similar replacement (very difficult).
This is good news for us as we face them in the first knockout round of EL and Gakpo has been an immense threat up front for PSV.
Tell PSV we’re having a firesale with 3 top top quality wingers in Ocampos, Idrissi and Januzaj for them. Heck we’ll throw in Jordan, Papu and Suso for free.
^ saying how we have 3 free roster spots, now that we’re essentially done with Dolberg. Papu is going nowhere. And the previous medical team had issues with Lopetegui, which he explains further below.
^ confirming there had been friction b/w Lope & the medical team, and is a department they also take seriously. “A player who doesn’t play costs a lot.”
Most of the interview was centered around the presidency, and whether or not there will be a change, in which Castro states “there is absolutely no possibility.”
^ also mentions they have 3 signings, and 1 of them can be done today (possibly Loïc Bade).
And shoutout to blogjavisfc on Twitter for doing the Lord’s work.
This is really funny to me. From starting every game in the first division to the second division in a blink of an eye because he was lazy and didn’t want to work.
Otamendi would be a nice short fix, experienced and seems a bit less error prone than his man city days.
I’ve heard 2 more names. First is about Sarabia, could be a loan or termination of contract if PSG are up to it. The second one is purely speculation from an IG account so I won’t get everyone’s hopes up, only thing I can tell is he’s Brazilian and Sampaoli specifically requested him (duh).
