UCL R16 - 1st Leg: Sevilla FC v Borussia Dortmund [20/21]

Aren’t we lucky we didn’t draw PSG?

He shouldn’t have started, along with Navas. Mistake from Lope, however, everyone was shit in the first half, from some it wasn’t even expected like Bono, Papu etc. Papu has done fuck all and a lot of mistakes.

Oliver and Munir to start the second half or we won’t score more than the lucky 1 goal from Suso.

All those little mistakes we often did this season cost us big time tonight. You can’t get away with it against a team that attacks like that.

Thank God for halftime!

Is it really them? Contrary to my believe, but their midfield is completely overrunning ours. And our defense is the victim. Navas grabbing his thigh again, get him out and don’t play him if he’s not fit, period.

Agreed. It’s a total shock though coming from 7 games without conceding or 9 last games conceding 1 goal to this. Just wow…

The only way we can save face and hope for something in the second leg is if we don’t concede more than this and score 2 more goals lol. Any other scenario and it’s bye-bye CL!

He could’ve done better for the second goal though, but in overall it’s not his fault for this debacle.

Agreed, we are so naive.

That’s not super surprising honestly.
That’s kinda similar to Europa league last season, pacey and strong opponent that’s absolutely nowhere to see in La liga.
The different is Rakitic instead of Banega, and Haaland is way better than the like of Lukaku.

At least Papu is hustling and looking for forward passes. Jordan and Rakitic keep playing negative and back to the keeper which invites the Dortmund press which leads to what happened to the third goal. I think Oliver needs to come on for Rakitic seeing he’s a more attacking player who looks to go forward. Navas hasn’t had a good game at all and is holding up the ball too much and Idek where to start with Fernando and Diego Carlos. Carlos looks like a lost puppy every time Haaland is coming at him, I think it’s because he’s scared of him, which isn’t like Carlos at all he’s a capable defender and shouldn’t be afraid of Haaland. Nonetheless I still think we have a chance in this tie if we keep the score line within one goal.

There’s still no penalty from DC, touch wood…

I think Diego Carlos struggles against fast paced and dynamic players. In Europa league last season he struggled against wolves, Man Utd and inters forwards. Again he has been found out.

He’s great against target men or slower and more aerial type players. These type of players expose his weaknesses though.

Big mistake to play him. Should have gone with Vidal who was fit and in form.

Never mind the third goal, the second was the killer. Sevilla getting a spanking. Borussia are impeccable in transition from defence, not finding space but creating space up front, it’s a tactical supremacy.

Looks like game over but Sevilla need to fish out that factor X that is built into the club and do the second half like never before. I doubt that it is possible and fear more Borussia goals.

Their defense is shit, but our attack was shittier in the first half. We can damage them as they’re not known for solid defense this season (and especially lately) - but we need weapons to damage them as they won’t get hurt with stones only.

Oh for God’s sake he’s really bringing on Gudelj

OMG… Gudelj in for Rakitic… really?

Not sure if the second half is worth watching really… but hoping for a miracle :stuck_out_tongue:
