Bengals for the NFL, Braves in the MLB(Up 2-1 in the World Series ), and the Hornets for the NBA. Canes as well if you ever watch hockey lol
Those Hurricanes are killing it! With the NHL on ESPN+ I can finally watch our games.
I grew up near Shelby, NC and went to the better NC schoolā¦NCSU.
Yes they certainly are! I hope to get to a game at some point this season.
And no worries I will forgive you for being a member of the Wolfpack palā¦anythingās better than being a Blue Devil
And I have to admit also I am a huge Carolina basketball fan due to MJ
That was grim reading. I think we are in for a torrid few years.
It was not a fun read, especially about the part where no one is committed to Monchiās future.
With that said, depending on who actually agrees to leave in the summer, we are probably 1 more summer from really being able to shed a bunch of salaries.
Navas, Papu, Rakitic, Fernando, Lamela, Ocampos, and Torres all expire at the end of 2024. I expect some of those to leave this offseason. Hopefully, we can move on from some of the others too.
Board room update - a Spanish judge has ruled that moving forward, the teamās largest shareholder, JosĆ© MarĆa del Nido will be able to vote on all proposed board items moving forward and that Castro was in the wrong for disallowing his vote and the voices of minority shareholders at the last meeting.
This doesnāt change the result from December though. Thatās subject to appeal and a move to the Supreme Court.
This is assuming my translation was correct. haha
Yup he lost his attempt to have the executive committee dissolved but the judge ruled that he shouldnāt have been prevented from voting in the last shareholders meeting.
Heās a pain in the culo and the only thing thatās going to defeat him is Sevilla keep winning stuff.
Heās at it again.
Now heās asking the court to compel Sevilla into an emergency shareholders meeting, he canāt wait until December.
If Castro is removed, can we keep Monchi? If not, fuck off Del Nido.
This crook is never going to give up.
Gonna win too right?
I havenāt been here in the fan base super long and donāt remember the first time we had this drama, so with the inevitable Del Nido situation, do yāall think it will end up being a net positive or negative for the club once everything settles?
What is everyoneās thoughts?
Hard to say. I mean the fan base was calling for Del Nidoās resignation in his last term too and it wasnāt due to the fact that he is a crook.
I donāt think much would change. Although comparing the two terms, Castro has renovated the stadium, invested in the training complex, and won 4 Europa League trophies over the 10-year period. Del Nido won 7 trophies over 11 years (although he served more than that as interim president).
Under Del Nido, I just remember debt issues frequently. With Castro we have been pretty solid financially minus the last few years. Is that due to the pandemic, or greedy owners, or something else?
I think weāll see an improvement whenever this drama ends no matter who comes out on top. The infighting on the board is doing more to hurt us and hamper our growth than any one president could individually.
Heās been fighting ever since he got out of the pokey so I donāt share that opinion that we will be better off. We could be much worse off.
And there it is. The strikes.
Is Jose Marie del nido coming back? Could be a return of the red nets at the pizjuan back under de nido! Lol
I always felt the club was even more hostile under him as well for visiting teams. He will demand the gate/net back where the ultras used to gather.
I sort of feel excited about all this despite what we know del nido can be like. He did start off the Sevilla dynasty. We will have to see what happens here. He sort of is a villain but we could be even more ambitious under him again.
How are you all feeling about this? Lots to take in. Castro has been a rock for us but it feels the end of this cycle with Castro and Monchi fully now.
Anyone wonder how the meeting went? I suppose only time will tell
