Just to put this out there. So far there’s zero proof that Navas is pissed about his exit. And the fact that he announced it through the club’s official media would seem like an odd choice if he was ending on bad terms with the club.
Anyhow, echoing all, very sad to see his time end. Curious to see where he heads, so I can buy his new jersey
Scratch that. Navas note clearly says the management screwed this one up. Could have offered him a low ball figure at least! But nothing? Not even backup to Juanlu?
The board are obviously desperate to clear salary, doing it in such a backhanded way. They must think they can control the narrative through social media, this speaks volumes of the people in charge, they clearly aren’t very smart.
Rakitic & Navas forced out while Januzaj, Jordan, Mariano & Mir sit on the bench (or not at all) collecting millions each year.
I like the idea of Garcia Pimienta potentially coming in to promote and work with the youth to build a new first team squad, but the way this potential strategy has come about demonstrates the mess this club has gotten itself into over the last few years.
Don’t forget Fernanado left under tense circumstances too. This whole thing makes me sad for the players who have given so much in a system that doesn’t really reward loyalty like it used to. Sevilla was a small light that was rewarding good and loyal players, well until they didn’t. May not be a huge deal, but in the long run it seems to have tarnished the brand. How you treat exiting players, especially Legends who have stadiums named after them, matters.
I agree we need a clean slate with the great majority of the team, but our staff also needs serious overhaul.
Jagoba Arrasate said to already have an agreement with Mallorca, providing they stay up. Garcia Pimineta may be the next choice if the board stump up the €’s to get him from Las Palmas.
Who would be your choice to replace QSF? I believe David Moyes will be available this summer
Report mentions they’ve tried to sound out his interest in a switch, but suggest a stumbling block might be his current salary, which they won’t be able to match.
Maybe we can have a wip-around to make up the difference?
Acuna’s contract ends in 2025, so this would be great business if true. It will be interested to see if the president actually deals with Monchi this time.
The press seem quite sure of the next manager, Francisco Javier García Pimienta from Las Palmas. Goes mostly by the surnames García Pimienta.
Acuña is one of my all time favourite Sevilla players and he’s probably the best player we have at the moment. I’m dreading the carnage of this next transfer window.
For me, he’s been one of our best players this season and surprisingly so.
I’ll be sad to see Acuna go but we can’t turn down 15 million in our situation. We need to cash in big time this summer, especially on all the deadwood we have such as Jordan and Mir.
Acuña has a short temper but usually it’s just arm waving and sour face. If he actually said anything offensive in his tantrums he’d be sent off every week.
Best news you can hope for. Now sell, sell, sell and we should get a good amount of money to make something happen on the market with long term vision. Most importantly, decisively and in a timely matter.
No waiting around hoping for some leftovers at the end of the deadline. All that shows is doubt, hesitation and a roll of the dice in your team building process. It requires proper planning for once for fuck sake and timely preparation so you can actually start your season and pre-season well.
So the second news that would help massively, is to confirm the trainer early on so that’s settled.
Kirian Rodriguez is a rumoured name. 28 year old centre mid from LPA.
