I wasnāt happy he came in the first place, but he has done well enough. He was iffy in the beginning of the season with turnovers and positioning. The second half of the season he has performed better and stepped up as more of a leader. I wouldnāt mind extending him another year at his minimal salary. Especially considering we will be facing cuts in our wages next season.
Yeah, I think Ramos has more than earned his wages, which I suspect is precisely why heāll leave. We canāt pay him top rate wages and he paid his debts with the clubās fans, so heāll head on to greener pastures now. Iād be quite surprised if he didnāt take a hike. I am almost curious whether heāll drag Navas with him, but in my view, that would put him back in debt with the clubā¦ Maybe heāll have to come back as a coach someday to pay his debts to the fans a second timeā¦?
I hated bringing in Ramos at the beginning of the season. I thought he was too old, not in it for the right reasons, and was not the direction the club should have been moving in.
The first part of the season validated my fears; however, in the last few months, heās been one of our best players. I think we need to move on and get younger, but I wouldnāt be upset if he returned for another season. Especially if Navas decides to hang it up.
Marcao is living the actual fan lifeās dream, training with your idols, topnotch personal trainers and facilities, first class seats in the stadium weekly and regular national and international trips to locations with everything taken care off while not having to perform, all the while earning millions.
It seems Navas wil go in retirement or to his Friends Racitic and Bono, there is an offer.
He is unconvinced of the project an the offer for his new salary.
How surprising to see another one of those endings. Oh wait, no.
Navas really has been incredible in his dedication to this club, a legend like no other, and how much he offered in the last year with few really counting on him still to be up to the level and still deliver is unbelievable. All the best to him, hope he has a good Euro 2024 with the Spanish squad.
Maybe after, help Depor for next year to get back to the first league? Jesus please? Iām just dreaming.
And another surprise nobody will see coming. After years of shit management, no actual serious trainer is coming to this club and working under this board and Orta. Good luck fixing the mess you made.
