I’m with you on that. Dmitrovic has proven himself as a decent keeper and obviously Mendi’s number one.
Money from Bono is better invested in other areas that need it more.
Hoping we see some more activity soon.

Woah, i didn’t say all that. ![]()
I do think he’s decent, but he has started to give me doubts. I’m confident he’ll surmount them, but that means willingly going thru the growing pains of seeing him get there.
Dmitrovic is a good enough goalie for our team. We just sold a top 5 goalkeeper in the world, there’s no way we can ‘replace’ that for now. We definitely have other areas to prioritize.
Acuna deal might be falling through as villa looking at nuno Tavares instead. Fine by me if the price was as crappy as we earlier suspected.
If that’s the case only more rumours are about moves falling through right now. Tecatito uncertain, Oscar’s broken off as well.
Acuña & Tecatito moves falling thru? Oh no! ![]()

I’ve seen this:
Sevilla and Fiorentina are ready to compete for the signing of Brighton midfielder Steven Alzate in an €8 million deal before the deadline.
Columbia international and surplus to requirements at Brighton. Enquiries have been made apparently.
Interesting, but why would they get another same profile player as Sow. I’m all for rejuvenating and getting more dynamic midfielders but there are definitely other positions to worry about more right now.
Also having a ton of players who have agreed on personal terms with other clubs but turn out to be staying isn’t all that great either, potentially problematic even.
Delaney on loan following Augustinsson to Anderlecht looks to be confirmed.
Also Mendi in the press conference basically confirming, they got Nyland not necessarily because he was the first choice but more because he was directly available. Which to me again, just signals horrible planning again. Getting the duct tape out of last year’s shed and using it to the fullest. He was positive about the first Training so that’s something.
Please allow me to expect a bit more.
The GK coach also vouched for Nyland. I saw that it’s a 2-year deal, so it doesn’t hurt.
The Alzate link is probably a backup for the Soumare deal being worked on. They still want to strengthen the midfield.
Vouching because of the circumstances of needing a goalkeeper in 1 day, and having little options doesn’t mean that much. Highly doubt it would be him, if it wasn’t for availability. But we will see indeed.
Yeah it’s definitely not bad but I just don’t want to rely on Ocampos having a gullible day every once in two months for chance creation. Really wishing for a creative non selfish player who lets other players play better. Can’t count on Papu, can’t count on Tecatito, Lamela generally isn’t either. Oliver or Suso? Effectiveness begs to differ for everyone.
Not Fulham but Nottingham signing one of our World Champions in the end. Thanks Gonzalo. Keep doing your thing ![]()
About the same price we bought him for, considering the football prices not great but at the point we are at acceptable 11m nets Orta another something to work with.
Would also expect a higher amount for Montiel, but i’m wondering if that case in Argentina had anything to do with it.
In 2021 I thought montiel was gonna be navas replacement but I was wrong. He never was able to get in ahead of navas and was overall pretty disappointing. I’d take the €11 million
What if we’re lying to ourselves again, and like last season, they don’t spend because of “the debt”, and end up with another Dolberg & Januzaj? ![]()
you take your bad energy jinx elsewhere!
despite starting the season 0-2 lets try and retain some fleeting optimism before we descend into the depths of cynicism and relegation catastrophism.
some other names have been thrown around
Moise Kean, and Steven Alzate.
Also Delaney might be on the way to Anderlecht on loan.
It’s a reverse jinx! C’mon Rene, you know me better than that! ![]()
I’ll be right here celebrating when we sign Ansu Fati. ![]()
i totally bit on it! well played! gotta trust the process.
my strategy for this season is to just not get too high or too low. of course, the latter will be easier if we can get a few wins in the early season so the existential bottom is less likely. we’ve brought in a few intriguing pieces and we were all expecting departures. i’ll be very pleased if we qualify for europe this season… but im not sure if that is overoptimistic. we’ll learn a lot in the coming months a to whether mendi just got the team hot at the right time, or if he really is the right guy to build with.
This is only wishful thinking at this point, at best.
Even teams like RM very often rely on the most crucial part of a team and that’s the goalkeeper. If you don’t have a very, and I mean VERY decent goalkeeper in the team you can’t really build a great foundation to be honest.
Dmitrovic is ok, but compared to Bono? Not even close.
Nyland… probably one of the least exciting transfers in the history of the club. Can’t expect much from him. If he’s anywhere near Dmitrovic’s level that will be a huge bonus.
So we’ve let a great goalkeeper go to rely on 2 average goalkeepers (or 1 average and 1 below average realistically speaking). Way to go!
