Orta said after Sow’s presentation: “Ramos doesn’t fit our model as a club at this present day.”
Agreed. Maybe this is just me because I wasn’t here for the beef he’s had with the fans, I like him as a player and wouldn’t mind him back if we’re not paying good money we could use elsewhere to get something better.
Maxwel Cornet of West Ham added to the rumor list.
Good. We don’t need any more old and finished players.
And he also made clear we were maxed out on central defenders, a definitive no to Ramos.
If we put Sergio Ramos as our striker, I bet he would score more headers than Rafa Mir
We’re probably maxed out statistically… but who can really count on Marcao?
Happy MM anniversary btw Tim!

Lopetegui out at Wolves… Days before the start.
Ouch…that’s gotta hurt.
Seems it was mutual, but I really think Lopetegui was pissed at the lack of signings.
Wow. Never saw that coming,
The final squad is getting much clearer now that we registered the newer players. Talks now of an Idrissi deal to Damac FC that’s close, pending a medical; and a loan move for Óscar to Alavés. Augustinsson, Delaney & Januzaj were also left without squad numbers, and are likely to be the next ones to follow.
There are even reports that Papu & Tecatito could be transferred, with rumours of the latter gaining interest from Rayados . I’m not quite ready to see Corona leave, but he’s still recovering from last year’s injury, and may already be losing some of his pace. As long as the replacement is adequate.
It’s all good news, knowing that Orta & his team were working hard behind the scenes. It’s alot of players to sort thru on short notice, but we’ll see how things pan out Sept 1st.
Have a feeling, Mendi doubts Corona. And all those you listed except arguably Delaney without doubt need to look for a different club. So the club forcing more departures is only good. I just want to see more players that are are fine being serviceable players who don’t need the spotlight as much, like Sow and I can’t help but being excited about someone like Tresor, insane number of assists. Whereas every year we have someone with sub 10 assist like maybe a Rakitic who laid off a couple and got a few from set pieces. It’s not the only problem, but it definitely played us parts. Just this alone is what I would look for (Talented, sober and selfless in some way). Because not giving someone the opportunity that could have been is not something you see can clearly see in game stats.
Still hopeful for something good to happen.
From what I’ve heard, Juanlu is able to play against Valencia. He also apparently signed a new contract which states that he will be with the first team. However, he is not yet registered with the first team. If he stays, he surely will, but it is also possible that he will not.
Sevilla negotiating with Monterrey for Tecatito, just the news I didn’t want to hear.
I won’t be too sad to see him go either, Never really got a chance to see what he could do.
Looks like he’s another one made of glass, don’t know how Monchi managed to find them all.
It is being talked about Tecatitos departure… maybe even Delaney’s (out on loan).
What about new signings, or we’ve retired from that sport?
We need at least a couple of new players in order to really compete in the 2023-24 season. Not ANY player though… qualitative ones.
I think we’re simply waiting on another set of exits, perhaps to reduce the salary limit as well. If they’re willing to part with Tecatito, I’m sure something impressive is in the works. I hope…
I think we display a lack of ambition, everything smells of mediocre.
