Summer 2023 - Sevilla FC Transfer Rumors

it’s understandable but he’s got football in his boots and apart from the major injury he’s not played in a decent football environment under Lope and Sampaoli, been a bit mistreated actually.

I think Castro essentially being a lame duck at this point isn’t helping. The board is likely going to change in next year or so which isn’t helping stability right now. The other thing is our growing debt problems too. I’m surprised we even managed to get Sow but that looks a good signing at least.

You say this when we’re 1 player away from completing our starting XI? Orta solved the main issue in midfield, and is now addressing the LW position, dumping both Idrissi & Tecatito. The man is cooking something serious.

Oh, and y’all must’ve forgot…:boom:SUSO NATION:boom: is upon us! Revitalized and deputized in his true role to lead us back on that blazing trail to eviscerate the Big 3! We will remind the masses that Europe fxcked up letting us win that 7th Europa League. Can i get a witness?! :raised_hands:

He even took a shot with his right foot in San Francisco! Poorly, but still…baby steps

Not that it was suggested anywhere, but i would love the prospect of another LB, pushing Acuña into midfield, and Mendi would finally have his left-footed wideman. This would give us adequate cover at LB, cause i feel you need 2 backups for modern age fullbacks. Acuña plays like he has unfinished business with the gods and is out for retribution every time. He’d be perfect on the opposite side of Ocampos.

Courtois injured for probably a long period of time. RM looking to replace him. Could this open up for a keeper-rotation including Bono? De Gea is still a free agent too.

I hope we don’t sell Bono to a rival.

Absolutely. But whoever RM buys from will probably end up needing a keeper. Let’s sell to those guys.

And if they go for de Gea that option will be gone for those in need of a keeper right now. The price for Bono should nonetheless have gone up now.

Interesting insight. Supply of world class keepers goes down. Price goes up.

Ay Ed, he hasn’t solved Jordan and that is the main issue in midfield, especially with Rakitic alongside. I think imidfield needs the sweeping brush or it will continue to limp along.

Me too, unless it’s in the region of €50m

One last redemption arc. Nunca te rindas. :innocent:

Also, Rakitic is drinking from the same fountain as Navas. And he has Croatian genes. That’s the only way i can explain him playing in that 2.5-man midfield rotation in the 2nd half of last season.

Like @TimSpence2 said, €50M (the clause) or nothing. I normally hate taking this stance and denying players of once in a lifetime opportunities, but the season starts tomorrow. And if it’s a loan deal, it better be €10M+. Y’all spent half-a-BILLY on that midfield, this is chump change.

Yeah I agree. Sow will help but we need more. Jordan isn’t good enough and rakitic/fernando are old and on their final seasons.

We need more life in there but hopefully that comes end of this window or in future ones.

We also need more reinforcements at full backs when navas retires and we need another left back and probably an upgrade on montiel at RB.

Depending what happens up front we probably need a new striker or 2 if Mir or YEN goes.

That sounds a lot but I think more will happen in future windows maybe with new board, direction and when more older players leave or contracts run out. Time will tell but we have to form a new squad slowly.

We have some good players here though and some in their primes and just need to expand on that over time.

Orta is back now though so he will continue to build the new squad as we move into a new era.

Overall we in a state of good things and bad things. We are working progress but I believe we will get there. We much stronger at centre back now.

Vamos mi sevilla!

Hard for me to have any sense of how many moves we have remaining… but one thing for sure is that we REALLY could use a strong start to the season this year. if we start with a bunch of losses, it could send this team into a spiral like last year. It could lead to bad, panic decisions in the January window. and we could truly be screwed. But if we can bag some early wins and make sure that we’re playing competitive football, even if not being world beating, Orta will have some time to work and we can hope for a gradual/methodical build instead of a bunch of reactive and panicked moves.

Romero loaned to Levante

As I am thinking about it more, I’m perfectly fine with Kike and Juanlu taking their place even as first substitute and full role players in the team if that means we at least do one more actual strengthening investment ike Sow.

Estadio Deportivo reckon that there are a couple of impediments with Real Madrid signing Bono, one is that he’ll miss a lot of games in 2024 with the African Cup and he’ll miss a supercup in Arabia.

Then they say that the other hurdle is the clausula of €50m but everyone knows that an offer of €20m will clinch the deal. The barstewards !

Levante also nabbed Carlos Alvarez. Only a 40% future transfer clause on the deal. No re-signing clause.

Correction: w/ Alvarez it’s 40%, but for Romero it’s 50%.
