That hair! THAT HAIR! I’m so confused.

MARCA thinks this will be our most likely lineup as things stand today. What do you all think?

I’m not so sure Gudelj will get that spot, but who knows. He only rarely played that spot last season, although of course he was busy, but is he quality enough in midfield to earn that starting spot? And like I said before, we need some new blood in midfield.

Also, I really hope Tecatito doesn’t ride the bench again this season. Way too expensive to be riding the bench. Better to loan him to Effing Sheffield or some such rando club in Europe than have him riding the bench.

I mean… not sure what lack of topics they are struggling with at Marca but that seems about to most irrelevant article ever. Come back in two months and we’ll tell you.

Also from the first Interview my impression of Adria Pedrosa is positive. Seems like a great guy to have in the team, with a lot of eagerness to prove himself. Listening to him, I think he’s also a classic example of not always the most talented or best players make it the furthest through the youth ranks. But the ones that keep going, work hard and persevere. Aims to be like Bernat or Alba. Actively moving up and down the wing, using his speed as a strength, with the goal to deliver final crosses. Great vibe in general, the hair is on a different one tho. My god. But atleast he wears it.

And about Gattoni, my girlfriend said the same thing. Finally a handsome player. LOL.

One thing to note… Of the youth asked to join the first team in preparations for the upcoming season, Carlos Alverez was not one of them. His contract ends in 2024 and rumors are he will not renew. Seems strange as he is one of better youth prospects in my opinion.

I don’t think Alvarez is at the level yet, but it feels like this club never shows much patience with the youth anyway.

Is Navas yet again gonna be our only homegrown player on the squad?

Haven’t yet heard the yearly rumors of Luis Alberto coming back, nor much attention to a Bryan Gil move, so my guess would be yes, Navas will be our sole canterano.

If I’m not mistaken, the biggest cost of that is having to leave some solid options out of the UCL team in order to squeeze in the required number of canteranos for UEFA quotas.

Not really Sevilla related but what you guys make of the Kang-In Lee transfer to PSG. Fun little player but not more than that. But hyped as the most talented young player since Son. He might grow a bit more but I doubt it’s real transfer for actual strengthening. PSG branding as a degenerate rich club for the future, trying to attract more young people wearing their brand in Asia. Throughout Europe I have to say its unfortunately working. So I mostly see it as a commercial transfer, attracting and expanding for a relatively cheap price around 20m.

Unsure about Kang-In Lee, but might be the kind of player that raises his game at an “elite” team. I think signing him & Asensio was smart for squad depth.

Rumours about Ajax interest in Rafa Mir. Depends what Rafa wants, he seems eager to stay in his home country. Also, Lucas has some real enjoyable stories to tell him I imagine from his time there. Besides that I think Rafa would destroy Eredivisie level defenders in the box but let’s see.

The other Rafa Mir rumor I read was that Valencia is interested. I would rather not give him away to Valencia, but if they’re willing to pay for him, gladly. I’m my view, we’ve seen enough of him to know that no matter what system you put him in, 9 times out of 10, he’ll make the wrong choice when the ball comes to him.

ADRIÀ PEDROSA: “ON THE EPIPHANY I FOUND OUT THAT SEVILLA WANTED ME AND I SCREAMED WITH DELIGHT” Adrià Pedrosa's first interview | Sevilla FC

Nothing groundbreaking here, but interesting to know that this contract move started way back in early January. Optimistic that maybe the Dirección Deportiva had plenty of these coals burning when Monchi left. Because the converse is to imagine how hard it will be for Orta to get enough solid coals burning to get this summer moving by the end of August

Jonathan Bamba, rumor for left attacking winger, contract expired at Lille and market value of about 10 million.

Anyone know anything? Better than Idrissi?

All these rumors, nothing happening besides some things basically already done in January…

I read somewhere that we’re going to sell first, buy later. I think that means Bono or Nesyri.

The transfer market looks like being another strange one, slow start but last minute bargains.

I’m with Tim on this one. Or rather, I think Tim’s description of the market is correct and I think is and/or should be the right approach for this Sevilla. We have a very complete squad, albeit with plenty of room to grow/reinforce.

E.g. maybe we get 30m for Bono and think we can get a backup for Marko for 10m, buy an apprentice for Fernando or Rakitic for 10m and send the rest to the loan sharks who are threatening Jose Castro with putting a horse head in his bed.

But I definitely don’t think we should spend more than we bring in or, similarly, spend quickly and then be forced to sell Bono for 20m towards the end of the market, a la Koundé.
