all of this was fascinating. thanks for the shoutout @RyanMoore . i think its definitely true that you need to look for value out of every roster spot because they are a scarce resource. buy low/sell high is one approach. maximize current team form (and associated team earnings) is another way of getting return from that spot.
and then there are all the secondary adjustments⦠better recent performances (bolstered by loanees?) make this a more attractive club for guys to play or be loaned to. but also, they squeeze out playing time from guys who might otherwise be increasing their own sell-on value. shendmās points about the team broadly bungling the offseason still feels pretty persuasive to me.
all to say⦠i have no idea. if its really 20m, that is definitely not buying low. this guy better be a monster. but he has quite the on-paper profile, so iāll just choose to be excited about it and hope he shows up quickly and in form!
Difference is with the Telles, Martial case, their value is more or less set. In money and in what they bring to the team. They will never be able to drastically change as much as of the 20 year old youngsters.
If the goal is to bring in various bodies to have enough options, to survive another year, relatively cheap itās alright. If you guys are relying on a new 20 year old with a few games on his name, to directly carry the team in his first year. You are asking too much anyway. The same but different problems will come up, inexperience and youthfullness. And if he even will get a class partner to learn from and help him, which for a central defender is huge. Kounde and Carlos had this more than iāve seen before.
A pure loan will just make it another bandaid and possiblity to help top teams develop their loanees and if not, no worries for them. If they think survival is the mode we need to play still so be it, even after two of the biggest sales ever. Iām actually down to bandaid 2 more years and then heavily invest and clean the whole slate starting from the bench.
Thatās a big catch there. It is not very different from a loan without a purchase option in sportive terms, but it is much better in economical terms depending on how the deal is structured. Letās say we buy him for 15m Euros and the buy-back clause is 25-30m and itās only valid for 2 seasons (a bit similar to the Negredo deal with RM, which they didnāt exercise after all) - then thatās a good deal.
Having mentioned the Negredo deal, just had a look and it was like this:
We signed Negredo from RM for 15m Euros for 5 seasons. RM had a buy-back options for the first 2 seasons for 17m Euros.
I think in todayās inflation and craziness of the transfer market, that would be considered a bad deal, especially in case the player shines and his MV is raised.
Thereās no guarantee of that happening though. I think itās more likely that the band-aid mission will continue rather than stop so that we can start investing heavily etc. and try to make it big. The club has a phobia of heavy investment because whenever we even came close to investing a bit more, the results were not the expected ones - or at least we were not that close to becoming a real force for once (e.g. Atletico, I know @Edinho hates that but itās our main point of reference in this day and age, we canāt compare to RM or Barca).
Eldesmarque has the Nianzou deal at 16m Euros + 4m in variables for 75% of the playerās rights (in case of selling to another club, Bayern will get 25% of the sale) + a buy-back option, the amount of which is not specified.
So be it, I donāt like lack of ambition. But that comes with the trainer, and just as for the under 13 year olds, competing is more important. Basically our mottos, competing is more important than winning. From mentality on and off the field and how we are acting out, interviews etc.
Sampaoli not feeling the same ambition in the management, and heās out. Atleast ours is alligned.
Lope not wanting anything specific, but just compete, well management answers throws him some of his old favourites and some randoms. And have fun, Lope. Iām really dying to find out. #hopewesomehowend4thagain.
Bayern is the only club guaranteed to benefit from the Nianzou deal. Our part of the benefit is still questionable depending on the playerās adaptation and performances. That buy-back option is a killer move from Bayern⦠well played!
It is and could prove to be a blow for us if he does go back. At least though, we get his services for however long as it fills a gap in central defence. Iād much rather go for someone like him than Nelsson for instance or some ageing centre back.
Agreed. I saw Nelsson more as a desperate or panic last-minute signing, not well planned. This is not too far from the last-minute thing as the deal is designed to favor Bayern hugely, so risk-free for them basically - but still, he should be a better player than Nelsson and hopefully he can help us achieve good results this season.
That however long could very well mean for 1 season in case he excels here, which in Lopeās system is likely to happen. After all, both Kounde and DC saw their MV raise under Lope, so thatās a good reference.
Kounde his value would rise, independent on any trainer. Heās too talented, and combined with Diego Carlos as a pairing they raise value for almost any team.
You will find out with worse players how valuable Lope his system is. He has been spoiled, and blessed to have them in his era saving him.
If he turns Marcao and Nelson into talented beasts who cover 2-3 clear game losing plays every game into a win. I applaud Lope.
Itās all personal talent so far. canāt leave out Bonoās name as well. Blessed coach. This is the first time some actual real core players left. Letās see how good of a defensive coach he is then. A system is what you play, if itās held up by pure individuals and otherwise it doesnāt work your a bad coach.
Give Real Mallorca, Ruben Diaz and Eder Militao and a top goalkeeper and letās talk about the magic of Javier Aguirre defensive solid system.
Considering the details for Nianzou, it has some of good stuff in it for us. The high future buy back option for Bayern ā¬50m and a 5 year contract. And about a quarter of his ownership remains with Bayern. For a promising talent, fresh blood, and his profile, not bad.
