Summer 2022 Transfers Conversation

Whoa, this sounds worrisome for Diego Carlos. As much I wish him the best, I always breathe a sigh of relief to see injuries right after a sale rather than right before…

And apologies, I rarely read football press in English, but the article says that Diego Carlos came off in added time with a possible injury in the Achilles tendon or in that region. Was apparently taken straight to the hospital according to the article.

That would be a great one!

What about Catena from Rayo? That’s a big ol boy!

That looks terrible at the moment and he was playing so well, winning approval there. I see also that Koundé didn’t get registered to play because Frenkie De Jong got the last ficha allocated. He’ll have to wait at least another week.

Moral of the story is be careful what you wish for.

Villarreal are going to be a problem this season in La Liga.

I mean yeah but recently every year in La Liga they’ve come up short when competing with us. As long as we win the next two we will be on right track.

True, but that might change this season if we’re not up to it.

Villarreal have had an amazing pre-season in general and now started well in the league with a 0-3 win vs. Valladolid (who we’ll face next Friday at home).

They have an amazing coach and haven’t sold their core players, only added to the team with Pepe Reina the veteran GK and Morales the veteran winger. They will have the opportunity to focus in the league much more this season as they are only playing in the UEFA Conference League with less competition and they might reach the later stages of that tournament with ease.

They are managing stuff (in all football aspects) better than us at the moment so let’s see.

I hope they don’t go after Nelsson. 20M would be peanuts for them. Monchi should open his wallet and just pay them the 20 million they demand. That seems pretty cheap for a guy like Nelsson. We could easily sell him for twice as much in two years.

Welcome to the forums @Keltos. For going after Nelsson, you mean Aston Villa, Newcastle or Fulham (the 3 rumored clubs)? If that’s so then you’re totally right, it’s peanuts for EPL teams and they might snatch Nelsson as he wants to leave the club.

However, I think he wants to join Sevilla more because of his CB partner Marcao, which could also mean an easier adaptation in the club and in the system for both as they understand each other well.

We’ve reportedly made another offer an it is 15m Euros with 3m Euros in variables, but none of this sum in cash (rather installments over 3-4 years). This also tells us that Monchi is not being that serious about a potential replacement for Kounde, or else we’d have signed Kehrer already.

Monchi is looking for the cheapest possible options and considering our bad start to the season + the urgent demands in the CB department, I don’t think cheap is always the best in that case.

In other news, Marcao and Isco might both start against very Valladolid on Friday. Still very unlikely but there’s lots of hope for that to happen according to Lope and the medical team.

Some reports are saying that Galatasaray is going to report Monchi and the club to FIFA for not being ethical in negotiating for Marcao and Nelsson. This could be just a ‘scare tactic’ from the Turkish club so that they can force a transfer that satisfies their demands, but you never know in this situation.

2.5 weeks to go until the end of the window and we’re still without the CB replacements. 2 more matches to be played in August and both of these matches are crucial to the beginning of the season. The next one is in 5 days. Monchi has to act fast now, the clock is ticking. The time for wise and carefully planned decisions was up at least 1 month ago… missed the train so now we have to do what we can with the very little time left, so that the squad doesn’t suffer like vs. Osasuna.

Dan-Axel Zagadou (free agent, last played for Borrusia Dortmund), 23 yo, the last one to be added in the CB rumor list. Roma are also after him.

I think Chris needs to add a ‘sad’ icon for these cases. Really sad to see an ex-player suffer thins kind of injury so early in the season, seriously interfering with their career too.

Hopefully he’ll be able to recover within 6 months and return to play in the second half of the season. Wishing DC all the best!

It’s a dreadful injury @ShendM gotta feel bad for him and although we don’t know the extent of the injury my best buddy just did his and even though it’s just a slight partial tear, the treatment is much the same.

Let’s hope they’ve got some highly evolved treatment for him

I still think Monchi has some surprise signings up his sleeve, despite the rumours and money restrictions. He can do a lot in two weeks and got to move Rony L too.

Today is La fiesta de la Asunción de la Santísima Virgen María a national holiday and Sevilla FC are patrons so will probably turn up at the Cathedral. I can imagine his phone ringing in the Cathedral.

Igli Tare, the sports director of Lazio sad that Luis Alberto is going to play for Lazio at least until the next season. So this saga is finally finished for now.

The latest rumor for the CB position is Edgar Ié, who last played for Trabzonspor and is now a free agent. He’s 28 yo, but not a qualitative defender.

We’re going for the lowest hanging fruit now.

I remember when he first joined the Eredivisie, people rapidly being enthusiastic about him, too good for the Eredivisie I remembered. But then again where is the Turkish league at and why is he still not picked up, apparently high in our vision seems about all we are looking at. But I’m down, for just about anyone lol. Just throw a couple of players in there and see if they may or may not turn up this year. Hell yeah…

Also Ivan Romero seems to leave on loan to Tenerife, good. And we try to sell Munir for 8m to Trabzonspor. Hope that goes well.

I think hopefully with these moves we are keen on getting another striker in. We need that and a CB and we good to go. I’d also like a box to box midfielder but will be hard to get all 3. I’d settle for another CB and forward.
