If there’s no buying option then I don’t know how to feel about this. We all saw how Acuna was very injury prone last season (as were a lot of other players) and having 2 awesome LB’s is a great asset for the team. However, we’ve made this mistake once with Reguilon, loaning him from RM without a buying option, he overly excelled here, won an EL with us and then we couldn’t buy him.
We need to steer clear of loans without purchase options, it’s not healthy long-term.
Still dreaming of getting both Luis Suárez’s into our lineup this summer. I actually think it could also have some positive press and social media value for the teams global brand. Heck, sign them on the same day and then have one of the lawyers “leak” that they really only meant to sign one of them but messed up the paperwork and got two Luis Suárez for the price of one.
Very happy with the Marcao signing to replace Carlos.
Hoping Reguilon comes in also. If Acuna stays we’ll have a real dilemma at left back but a great one to have with two quality players. Good business moving Ludwig on also. He wasn’t good enough.
It frustrates me. How can they spend so much when they’re in so much debt? I’ve heard the argument that as they are a big club and stuff they’ll be able to pay it back, but here’s the thing. They’re not paying it back. The debt is only growing. It’s incredibly frustrating that they’re able to continue to burn millions on players
July 12 — 1 month away from our first La Liga match away to Osasuna. What will happen with our strike force? Do we give up on En-Nesyri? Do we let Rafa Mir lead the line? Do we get rid of both??
We’ll know how the club feels eventually, but our attack (& midfield) overall just seems unenviable. I have no doubts about Lope getting defenders to settle in, but up front?
I guess it doesn’t scream “Champions League” to me, but we’re gonna need some kinda x-factor in the front 6. Perhaps i’m just impatiently waiting for signings to be made. With this LB scenario, it lets me know that at least we’re addressing the right “trouble” positions. Now to move further up the field…
I don’t think a loan is too much of a problem, cause he’s still gonna be 2nd to Acuña, and he’s way more expensive now in terms of wages. I like the strengths he gives us, but he still has issues with his final ball.
It can start to rattle the nerves when you put it like that.
I like the idea of Reguilon, a lot. In fact he and Acuña could both play at once and be a killer formation.
Not a big problem, but it’s too hard to accept the fact that he’d 99% be gone at the end of the season regardless of the performance - and I have a feeling that it’ll be a performance similar to the 2019-20 season, which will hurt even more
