Summer 2021 Sevilla Transfer Rumours etc

I don’t think Idrissi will be there by the end of the market…

Yeah, and to be fair he brought Munir for peanuts, and Dabbur who I believe was a very good striker (or at least better than De Jong…)

Yep Arias was the main culprit for all the mess during that period.

I reckon they would have been slightly more interesting had they played a bit more :joy:

@banyuken Welcome to the boards amigo! Good to know the podcast is reaching the right folks!

Don’t throw him in that pile. He was forced to be a wingback that season. If he was in the team right now, he’d be a starter at LW. #WhatIf

Sadly yes. I think we’re going for Sarabia now.

Funniest shit i’ve read this week. Didn’t City offer €60m last year?

That small glimmer of hope seems to have faded away now.

So… Sven Botman, eh? :slightly_smiling_face:

Sven Botman and maybe Sarabia? Still not bad but I’d honestly liked Corona better as I think he would fit in nicely in this system… and of course because of pace.

Me too my friend.

I can hope that the €50m news is fake. Di Marizo, while he’s considered reliable most of the time, said that we agreed terms with Tottenham for Koundé which I’m confidently sure is fake. I’m not sure if I trust him on the rest of the Koundé news, or at least I just don’t want to believe it

We did agree on Koundé and the Davinson Sanchez deal, but Koundé was the one to reject that one.

Two months late to this comment, @ChrisLail but yes, yes we did. We trolled them solidly. If you go back and watch their social media from the departing bus, it’s all got music over it because otherwise you’d hear me screaming Sevilla FC chants and anti-betico chants in the backgroun.

Good point about the Mexican fans. They do support their own. They showed up big time when :poop: came and played a friendly against DCU. I also showed up with a few other Sevillistas and we made sure that the green squad heard plenty of Musho :poop:, Mucho Merida. right @RyanMoore

We’re getting 4.5 million Euros that was included as a clause (% of future transfer) as Joaquin Correa moved from Lazio to Inter.

That alone almost covers Delaney’s signing fee. Nice!

That’s something, but it is still not making up for Kounde leaving for 50m. Seems like Chelsea dragging it out and seducing Kounde first has had its effects.

Yeah that would be an absolute shame if it goes through.

Anything under 70 million for Kounde is an unfunny joke, especially in the current crazy market of prices. The pandemic and its effects do not help, but if Chelsea almost splashed 115 million Euros for Lukaku, they surely can splash 70 for Kounde. I hope Monchi doesn’t give up easily on this and cancels the negotiations to keep Kounde for another season if need be.

Sell Kounde for 50 million and we’re a clown club.

Plus when you think of it… who’s being rumored to replace Kounde? A young unseasoned lad like Botman, who can turn out to be wonderful, but still an experiment. It should at least be Botman and another seasoned veteran like Boateng for example. But it seems the management is ok with 3 CB’s and one of them being Rekik… ugh!

In Holland they don’t speak that highly of Botman. The footballing part mostly, but then again they expect different things in Holland he still might be decent at it. But to me on first hand, it sounds like an out of place replacement for someone with the abilities of Kounde. We will find out soon enough tho.

He can grow to be a solid centre back, like Carlos. But then again, it doesn’t compliment him. We are already struggling to build up against Getafe. We might need Frenkie de Jong or Kroos in front of them to help us out of that one.

Provided we get sufficient funds for him even 60-65 million and get strong replacements then we will be set to go.

I think it’s clear sadly he’s going but let’s at least make Chelsea pay a bit more for him. I’m still confident of an amazing season even without kounde because we strong all over the pitch and it’s just the centre back position we need to address. Monchi is working on it though and we could see 2 strong centre backs come in, who knows? He probably wants this transfer done before last week to use it to get the last targets he’s been linked with.

We look to be keeping the rest our key player and we strengthened the squad well. It will be a shame to see kounde go but I think we all expected this and that it was pushing our luck to keep him another year with the big money sharks circling.

The other thing we got to consider here is kounde himself. If he’s pushing to go then it’s for the best probably he does. Monchi won’t want to risk keeping a player who’s not happy he didn’t get the move he wanted. That not good for morale no matter how good he is but I just hope we don’t sell way short of the clause and asking price.

One thing I always liked about the club is we not afraid to sell and move on. Some clubs try to hang on to players to long but we embrace it and look to replace well and move forward. Yeah it will be a shame to lose him but you monchi always has plans in advance and I trust him to buy another gem again.

Jerome Boateng rumors died down, but I think Botman + Boateng would be at least a decent try in replacing Kounde. Anything else is a failure.

Yeah that’s what I’d like. A mix of a young and promising player with also the experienced boateng. If we got that it would be ideal as well as decent funds for kounde. Like you say though the boateng rumours have died down but we know monchi works fast and if kounde move is sorted he could get both of these players or something similar.
