Summer 2021 Sevilla Transfer Rumours etc

How did that work out for RM this year? haha just playing counter point here. I understand what you are saying, but a guy with an ego so big that he produced a video biopic series on himself doesn’t really fit into our model imo.

Honestly I thought the series was great! I love seeing the other side of the players lives. I also love that he loves Sevilla

I’d reckon at least 70-80 mil for KoundĆ©. Not everyday a young center back like him can play with such composure and skill.

I hope €70-80 but I’d be pleasantly surprised. Pre covid I’d say absolutely. I think we should ask Kounde to name 2-3 teams in the EPL he’d play for and then have a bidding war.

If we go for Joselu, to me its like fixing a problem with duct tape. It fits the gap in a way, but its not gonna hold well and I really dislike this in a future perspective. Why do you want a mediocre second striker without potential? It really shows lack of ambition in my mind.

Hope we set are goals differently.

That’d also be great. Imo I think the two teams that’ll go for him are Madrid (since Ramos is nearing his end there) and City (because it’s City)

I’m with Chris on Ramos, for the same reasons. Also, in recent years he’s been expensive at the back, even discounting the soft refereeing.

Can’t argue with what he’s done up front in big games and sure he’s got the experience but I’ve got reservations about his ego and baggage.

Tier 1 from Romano. Arsenal are open to selling Torreira. I’m hearing Arsenal want €25 million but unlikely anyone will pay that. This is the type of player Sevilla can turn into world class imo. Potential is there. Just needs the right situation.

There’s no way Ramos would be welcomed back.

On Ramos, it’s bittersweet. Looking at our shortcomings this season, we saw that the team’s mentality let us down in the key matches. A lot of coaches like to bring in ā€œwinnersā€ to instill that in the squad. Who better for that than Ramos? But i don’t think the people of Nervión want him back, so i think that’s where it ends.

And damn, no one here likes Joselu? i didn’t think he was that special when he played in England, but ever since he returned to Spain he’s been a decent striker. Especially that partnership w Lucas PĆ©rez. I see him as the kind of CF that will provide the hold-up play that YEN lacks. To bring in a backup striker, you can’t really go with someone who’s miles better than your starter, just give the team something different.

But Rafa Mir is a good shout too. I wouldn’t mind if we went for someone like Braithwaite, but i doubt BarƧa would do anything like that, seeing what happened w SuĆ”rez.

Completely agree with this statement I think Sevilla could rescue his career similar to how Lopetegui’s career has been resuscitated

And then he doubles down…

ā€œI’m already at a big club, but evidently I’d like to evolve at a bigger club. We’ll see what the future holds, but it’s something that stays in my head.ā€ - Kounde [Telefoot]

None of this should be news to any of us. Rakitic wouldn’t have said what he did if this wasn’t all already known. Get the biggest € and buy the right guys and Sevilla will be better next year than this year. We don’t keep the next Kounde until we make ourselves so good they don’t want to leave. Don’t sweat Jules Kounde. Him leaving won’t make or break Sevilla.

Also Edi, they ask about 15-20m for Joselu. We are really insane if we lay that down.

Just for comparison. Rafa Mir played 500 more minutes than YEN and scored 5 less goals in the league while taking 37 more shots. Yen .72 goals per game compared to Mir’s .51.

Also he is playing for Huesca. So what kind of opportunities are you gonna get. You basically have to shoot on sight. Just for the heck of it.

No one in their right mind would pay AlavĆ©s that amount. Whatever we get from De Jong’s transfer should be enough. I’m thinking in the 8-12m range.

20m for a 31 year old, substitute striker, who’s never scored plenty of goals and is not gonna get better. Might as well go for a 24 year old and not waste all the potential, or go for an actual proven striker like Dzeko who you probably pay less for at this point.

Yeah for a secondary substiute veteran striker, who’s not gonna be your plan A. Paying anything more than 10m is too much for the role it has to fill. Again Jorge Molina for an example. I vouch for getting one secondary striker with potential like youssef, and one with a decent record to add to the experience and change playstyle but not be the main substitute. Like Negredo or Wilfried Bony, they don’t have to cost anything.

I agree with you here. We need to look for younger players who don’t have a lot of media exposure. Buy cheap and either develop the team around them or sell for big money.
