We have actually… I remembered Banega, but after checking, it seems that we got Maduro, Alexis and even Palop from them as well.
Buffon isn’t coming to Sevilla unless he is working on his coaching papers or something haha.
News from the day:
Diego Carlos is getting closer to a contract renewal, said to last until 2025, as he will also soon obtain Spanish citizenship.
Óscar Rodríguez is set to stay next season as a backup to Papu Gómez. It’s possible that Óliver Torres & Gudelj will be added to the transfer list.
And just over an hour ago, Kounde said this…:
“I may have to change clubs this summer, but I haven’t decided yet.” […] “My goal is to one day evolve at a big club and win titles.”
Some English media outlets are making it sound worse than it is by saying “I’m CERTAINLY gonna change clubs…” which isn’t true. But regardless, he said what he said.
Sooo… Sergio Ramos anyone?
I think we all already knew he was ready to move on. Just gotta get €60 million minimum but ask for the full clause. Use that money to buy Sarabia, maybe Torreira and a young RB and we’ll be a better squad next year.
Forgot to add, as @Enrico previously mentioned De Jong’s possible departure this summer, one player being touted to replace him is Joselu from Alavés (11 goals, 3 assists this season).
I am all aboard the Sergio Ramos train
Joselu not good enough for the attacking department.
I wouldn’t mind Sergio Ramos, although not sure if he can perform at the top level at this point, being riddled with injuries and not stable enough after the surgery he recently had.
Kounde is free to leave - and it was expected btw. We just have to get as much as possible out of him and bring in a decent CB as an answer.
I don’t want Ramos. He has nothing left to offer and would cause issues in the clubhouse I think. If he came here, he would want to be a starter and I don’t think he is good enough to be that imo. We have to find someone similar to Kounde to work well with Diego imo. A fast CB with great anticipation. Carlos is the muscle, Kounde is the finesse.
I think he has a lot to offer as far as leadership goes. He has led RM and the national team to a lot of trophies. As far as the clubhouse goes, there is no one around from when he was there except Navas and they are buddies.
Both true, sometimes when the enemy starts to wear your shirt, its all good and forgotten. Sometimes it turns to hell. Maybe its not worth the risk. Altho I do think Ramos his intentions are genuine, but he would need to respect our team first and be a back up/rotational player.
There are also some rumours about Lenglet coming back. In Ramos case, I think that he can still be on the top level for two years, biggest problem is the relationship with the fans. He has been injured this year, but he is not so injury prone player, in last season he played 44 matches in all competitions.
This is a pessimistic take but I’m afraid it’s more likely to be true than the optimistic one. He’s a c@nt out there and as much as I’d love that in CL, he might be more trouble than he’s worth. Imo Sevilla should be looking for the next Kounde when he’s sold. And hopefully the next Kounde wants to stay. I would take Ramos if wages are low enough but he’s got an ego, so I doubt it. In reality he’s going to resign with Real or take a relatively giant contract with PSG to give an F you to Flo.
I love it
Ngl, not what I wanted to hear regarding Koundé. If he does leave, who should we bring in to fill in the gap he’ll create?
Joselu is not up to par, and lost his potential. Prefer Rafa Mir here.
As Kounde replacement. Loic Balde is up there, RC Lens, 21 year old. Lot of competition around him too.
We aren’t lacking in the leadership department with Navas, Rakitic, Fernando and Papu. Hell even Jordan is showing great characteristics of a leader. I don’t see that as a need.
Crazy thought - Ramos as center forward?

I think those guys have great leadership qualities, but they don’t have experience like Ramos and I think that is something he can bring to the team to take the leap to win the league.
I think if we get 60 million for kounde we will do well. Sadly we are still a feeder club for the big teams. We are improving as a club but still seen as a spring board to that very top club. I have faith in Monchi to get the right replacements though.
The main thing is we establish ourselves as a top 4 team every season. We will lose a few top players but I have faith in Monchi to get the right replacements. If we get the right ones it will be exciting with the core of last season kept and hopefully the fans back.
Next season we aim for top 4 again and also to try to further in the cups and maybe get a copa dev Rey.
