Sounds great, amazes me how we are mentioned with a player like him. Considering Market Value, he is up in the top 10 of right wing backs of the world (32m). If those are the types of players we are looking for, im wondering what else is too come. For his age I think playing so many games in Premier League makes you quite tough and experienced and I think slots in nicely with Navas stepping down a bit. Are they selling him coz they are fed up with him? and if so in what way?
If we want to catch up he would for sure be a type of player to help us get there.
We are close to Erick Pulgar too, rumours getting stronger. Are we still in for it on CampaƱa?
Way too much speculation I know, but this could challenge many teams. And we would still have the likes of Fernando, Jordan and Oliver, Gnagnon, Gudelj and we can still hold onto our Pozo, Gil and Fernandez to fill it up a bit more.
OGC Nice is into Rony Lopes. Good to see there is some interest already. Won“t be a surprise that we lose money on him. Don“t think they are that rich. But Nice has proven to be a club where players out of favor get a chance to work their way up again maybe a bit under the radar.
Yeah I was going a bit nuts there. But what i“m saying is, starplayers are attracted by money and by other starplayers. If you get a name as Cavani as your target man, that“s a statement. That just atracts to a big audience but also other good players.
It“s probably too early and we will need to perform more seasons steadily high up on the table to get there but. But buying players like de Jong imo works a bit in the opposite direction. But this is probably still where we are despite, having reached European football so many times.
We are seemingly having an agreement with Irfan Can Kahveci from the Turkish number 1 team.
Yes. Very likely. Watched some videos. Beautiful left foot, is known for shooting from distance and has good vision for through balls (which is very nice). Immediate downside, He is almost purely left footed, the way he dribbles, the way he controls. For me, the more football is evolving considering speed of actions and everything the less you will get away with it. It“s a big let down to me, especially if you compare that to Banega who could do it left and right any time. If you always need one or two more touches, the right moment could be gone. So a different type of player, not a direct replacement I think.
Turkish Super League has some of the cheapest talents in Europe and worth checking out.
Alexander SĆørlothā¦Crystal Palace player who has been loaned to Trabzonspor scored 29 goals this season. 24 years old Norwegian. 1.95 m tall, a text book definition of a target man.
Thereās always rumours from the Turkish league and it just makes me roll my eyes. I donāt even believe this recent one. I donāt think the league is shit though. At least it aināt just Gala & Fener dominating anymore, which is nice to see.
Sorloth is playing well there, but that could be cause heās in the right system. Perhaps, he can go elsewhere and carry that form. He just didnāt work out at Palace.
I agree with this. Itās just Monchi is very strict financially so thatās why asking for Cavani (or James) is crazy cause his salary likely wonāt fit into the clubās wage structure. Canāt lie, heād be nice in Nervión. But he might go after one last big paycheck.
That also goes for BellerĆn. He plays for a London club, so heās def making bank. BarƧa has been chasing him for years, but his contract is pretty long.
Iād buy his tickets to France personally, Nice are not rich so I think a loan is more likely.
Bellerin, coming from a former avid, now casual Arsenal fan I can say his best attribute when he started playing was speed and it still is. He hasnāt really developed as well as people envisioned and has had numerous niggling injuries in the past 2-3 seasons, affecting his speed. Still he is one of the vice captains and acts as the playerās representative so it shows he cares, his injuries may also be a result of the Premās style of play, with his age he can give 7-8 years of solid play with a view to be Spainās first choice right back. Arsenal have no real replacement though so it may complicate any potential deal.
Cavani or James on a free would be the stuff of dreams but they would demand huge wages so the club better be ready to afford them. James is also a no.10 whose role is fading in the modern game, the other 10 guys on the pitch better be prepared to support him through the whole 90 and not expect him to defend.
Not sure what he can do, but reading your comments could be the playmaker we want. Not convinced by most talents in the Turkish league though, I remember when Inter signed Caner Erkin a couple of seasons ago and was hyped to be an all-action wingback, he rarely featured before being moved on.
I donāt expect a total warchest to be available, and with many positions needing reinforcements the club has to spend wisely, defense and the midfield are the priority here, there are a plethora of wingers and barely serviceable strikers, if they need the cash and some clubs want Ocampos for 50m up I would let him go.
I like that style as a striker, Roy Makaay was one of those too. A striker who is intelligent and deadly. Just focussed on scoring. In that aspect he may have something over Luuk de Jong and Nesyri for sure, since they are mostly about brute force and being well served instead of smart positioning and being sharp in the box.
Despite being a resident in Turkey, I long stopped watching Turkish Super League. İt has lost its spirit after the federation overruled the limit on the number of foreign players in a team. Since then the league has been flooded with fairly high profile players who are either close to their retirement or who completed their missions in Europe. Big teams like Galatasaray and FenerbahƧe chipped off big chunks of money on transfers with no sportive success on European arena.
However, it is also the same period when we accelerated the pace Turkish players transferred out abroad. Most notables are:
Cengiz Underā¦to Roma with a relatively cheap fee of 15 million, proved himself and his value increased
Cenk Tosunā¦to Everton with record braking fee of 22 million Euros, still struggling to prove his abilities in EPL
Yusuf Yazıcıā¦to Lille with a fee of 17.5 million fees, doing OK though underutilized.
I highly recommend UÄurcan Ćakır and Irfan Can Kahveci. They can be a bargain if purchased under 20 million. They will adapt to EU football if given enough time and grow out of the experience. After all this club paid 20 for a player like Rony Lopes who has no future value.
Article talks about possible Rony Lopes negotiations with Nice, and an impending Mudo VĆ”zquez transfer to Lazio (ā¬8M+1M) thatās been floating around these last few days.
But this is exactly what I was trying to say earlier, We pay 20m for Lopes and 15m for Luuk de Jong. Is it impossible to try to get a starplayer for 35m instead of 2 mediocre. Is the salary that much of a barrier? Or is the risk too big because it would be a record breaking buy?
Iām still unsure. I think we were mighty close to getting Bergwijn, but Monchi didnāt want to pay the ā¬40M. Heās now at Spurs and looks to be the real deal. Thatād be both Rony Lopes & Suso.
Edit: Speaking of Suso, that ā¬21M clause can be activated tonight if Villarreal drop points to La Real.
1 goal & 1 assist. And that was in the same game vs Espanyol, when he got his first start, and is still the only league match where he has completed 90 minutes.
I havenāt given up on him, but does anybody else notice that he seems a bit disinterested when he comes on? I donāt know if thatās just his demeanor, but it shows in how heās playing too. Thereās no hunger. Iāll try not to jump to conclusions in this weird post-lockdown season, iām just hoping we see something else for 2020-21.
