Still a few games left for YEN to show if he has what it takes, but at this moment I’m leaning towards a loan move with a callback option. If he performs well the club can take him back, he’s just turned 23 unlike Muriel so I think he can contribute in the long run.
Cavani would be a statement signing that tells the rest of the league Sevilla mean business. He is 33 though so may not be able to play 2 full games per week, which is where Fernandez comes in, but first Sevilla have to get into the Champions League in order to even turn his head to the club.
I love Munir but he is not a lone striker by any means, more like a second striker who plays off a target man, De Jong is the most basic model out there and an upgrade is needed, Ante Budimir scored twice in his last game, could be available for cheap to free up cash for other positions.
There’s a video from Diego Carlos’ wife’s Instagram where you can hear him say in Spanish “a lucrative contract coming very soon,” which has many people think he’s set for a move this summer. Granted, this may also mean that his contract is getting renewed, but the pessimism amongst Sevilla fans is that Monchi is more likely to cash in.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a move is already lined up. He has a lot of suitors, and deservedly so. Perhaps it’s why we’ve seen links to central defenders lately. First Senesi (Feyenoord), and now Jhon Lucumí (Genk). Interestingly, they’re both left-sided CBs.
To be fair, yes it makes completely sense for what a player he is. He is gonna be a top of the world centre back for the next 5 years. This is the time for the top 10 teams in the world to secure it. Feared it but logically we won´t be able to hold it if the offers come in. Bit distracting tho al these rumours when there is 5 more games to play makes me a bit annoyed.
Was hoping Sevilla could sneakily hold onto Carlos for 1 more season while the midfield and attack gets overhauled. If Monchi is to cash in he has to buy at least 2 more center-backs and one of them should be experienced, 3 center backs below 24 y.o is very risky.
Barca have made it clear Rakitic has no future in the club, he wants to come back to Sevilla but Barca are looking for a 15m fee, the club may not be willing to pay that.
An update on the goalkeeper front, sources have said Sevilla and Valencia are interested in loaning Chelsea’s Kepa for next season. Kepa did ok in his first season despite that infamous refusal to come off for Caballero with penalties on the horizon but this season his performance has dropped, with save percentages and such all below average. Given Chelsea broke the world record for his transfer (80M euros) they are probably just loaning him out to rejuvenate his career and not looking for anything permanent.
He’s not Unai Simon, but still a Basque keeper , thoughts?
This is what I said pre-season, Monchi is playing the same casino game but with bigger chips. It’s an absolutely stunning way to finance the club. Roma stifled his ability, the fools.
The big question is, when will the day come that we can justify keeping our best players?
This was hilarious! Sarri was fuming!!! The link is only from The Sun so i highly doubt the validity. But not a bad shout.
Consistent CL qualification, combined with an occasional title-push. At least being in the title race for more than a few matchdays. I know Monchi will bring us there, but will that come from Julen?
The audicity tho of the guy, honestly I was kinda glad they lost that penalty series. That disrespect to Sarri was insane, thinking you are above the team didn´t make him look good imo. In a way I get it, he´s young new and wants to make a statement to win the series for the team and be the hero but yeh that didn´t happen haha.
The rumours about Senesi are rising from all sides there are many interested teams. I still think we might be one of the teams to be in the race, but Feyenoord isn´t stupid and will drain the maximum value out of it as they want a minimum of 20 million.
I agree with keepingitrealistic, a solid veteran at the back would be great to have a long side our young talented defense, doesn´t have to be expensive just a sort of Raul Albiol type of deal that Villareal always seem to pull off.
So many interesting rumours I can´t help myself but one of the things is that most of the rumours we are connected to seem promising, always uncertain what eventually turns out but i´m hopefull. In the past there have been many names that I was thinking we should stay away from that. oh boy. But out of the latest rumours, nothing too terrible. But lets focus on getting that CL spot, and present us as best as possible!!!
Yea I like him, but I would say if it was 2 years ago. At this point. I´m not sure anymore. Back up for the Cavani plan maybe. Besides I think Cavani is better and will bring more, but not a bad alternative.
He’s 34 but was a dream signing when he left Atleti and Juve. Gives 1000% for the cause and no one can question his commitment. At this point he is a backup but is very much welcome.
I see Espanyol are probably going down, you just don’t lose at home to Leganes and hope to continue in La Liga, would Sevilla be interested in De Tomas, Darder or Roca?
Yes for the first part, but not with Lope anywhere near it.
All 3 are good, but we had a chance at RDT, but didn’t. Roca would be nice if we were looking for a DM. I like Darder, but i’d rather have Oscar from Leganes / Real Madrid.
Still Rumours about Rodrigo de Paul, as well as Roca from Espanyol, but there are some big names after them gonna be though… also Ezequiel Garay(33), I like him maybe on a two Year deal. We wil be needing a veteran centre back.
Not for me thanks.
37 goals conceded in 33 games for Granada, plus there is talk of a straight swap for Carlos Fernández to avoid the fee. I’m hoping this is just “paper talk”
For it to be this much in the papers, we can probably assume it won’t happen. The only player i remember (in recent memory) being linked to us that finally signed has been Suso, and maybe Jordán.
Suso used to be a creative player, a 10 that you weren’t sure what was coming next. Now he’s like a poor man’s Robben who sits on the wing, drives inside and shoots as soon as he sees the post.
I wouldn’t give up Carlos Fernandez, he’s a rare and valuable player who once he reaches his potential will be invaluable to us. He’s so exciting to watch, works so hard for the team, reminds me a bit of a raw Firmino.
Lopategui will love him for his work rate alone.
I know he’s 24 but the strides he’s made last year and from what I’ve seen this season are impressive.
Hector Bellerin’s name is being floated around. Any thoughts? Monchi doesn’t buy very many from the EPL, but Bellerin is a Spaniard and RB is a need for the team.
