Good match practice for us. I watched the highlights and we played pretty well. Palace are a decent premier league side so good test for us. What a thunderbolt from Rakitic. He really knows how to connect with the ball in the perfect way.
Even though not a proper shootout I should have known we’d win on a penalty kick. We are on a great streak of winning them haha.

From what I saw we were very poor and exposed big time by the athletic ability of Eze. Lucas, Bono, Idrissi all pretty good. The rest needs to come off vacation mode.

Yeah true. To be fair we got done big style for their goal. Although it was great pace and athletic ability by Eze.
We have had trouble for years with dealing with these kind of players. I think we said for ages we need more pace and athleticism in the side. Let’s hope we get them as well as freshening up the squad.
As much as I still love seeing the likes of Raikitic playing for us we need to look to the future moment and stop relying on these players in last year or so if their careers.

True, perhaps Navas too.
I fear Gattoni doesn’t have the height or physique to manage players like Eze. Gudelj tried to cage him but couldn’t. Badé would have struggled too especially on speed.
Idrissi did a lot of good work while Jordan had another careless game

This is true. I’m pleased we have gattoni and bade now though. It adds some freshness and new strengths to the defence.
I agree though that we still don’t have that ideal defender to deal with a player like Eze. Let’s hope we can address this issue before the end of the window.
I do like gudelj passion and aggressive play. He’s a bit over the top at times but at least he fights 100% for shirt. I have high hopes for Bade and gattoni but we need to be patient.
Not long till the first game now and hopefully we can start okay.

Got caught out a few times, had some misguided long balls, but overall he was decent. It will take some time to bed him in.
