Monterrey is becoming Sevilla AARP, which seems weird because for a while Sevilla seemed like it was Sevilla AARP. Sounds like that will be the next landing place of Sergio Ramos.
Can we just sign a centre back please god
Barco gone, Pedro Ortiz gone
Saw Sevilla are interested in Mikel Marmol and Adam Aznou to fill Barco’s slot. Not sure if either will come off as both are wanted by other clubs.
Time is running out too no?
We dont need to have another left back, just a center back will do. I hope that we can afford it because Gudelj and Bade aren’t enough
Window is open till 3rd February, so there is still some time to get things done
Middlesbrough have agreed a loan deal with Sevilla for Kelechi Iheanacho.

No replacement for Nianzou’s long term injury. No replacement for Barco.
No replacement for potential departure of Suso, even outside the winter market.
No replacement for Montiel.
Rest in peace my beloved Sevilla.
The incompetent and pathetic management has killed this club for good.
Or maybe the market just was too hot/tight in January. We have to be crazy cautious right now. If we can’t get a decent deal, we shouldn’t risk it.
I’ll accept the excuse ahead of time that the salary cap didn’t allow us to make the moves we wanted, so we must fight with what we got.
My only hope is that somewhere around the final 10 fixtures of the season, we have the semblance of a team that’s been working on something. Cause we still look like it’s week 1!
Perhaps Pimienta hasn’t got the players required for ‘his style’ of play. Should he not still have a gameplan? That’s a coach’s job no?
Perhaps Orta’s goal for this season was simply to survive since we are so limited with what can be done with the squad. We’re not privy to what happens behind the scenes so who knows why he had to go back on his word about Sergio Ramos last season. But we couldn’t even replaced him?
The last 10 fixtures. That’s as much grace as i can generously give to Pimienta.
As for grace for Orta? I’m not so sure, but i’m not really headhunting. Someone may have a differing opinion, and i wouldn’t disagree.
I have to agree with @ChrisLail @Edinho I think the market and cap space would’ve made getting a high quality replacement in quite a difficult task.
IF GP can get this squad playing more cohesively then it was a successful window. The players in the cantera who’ve featured in CdR games or made the bench can always be brought in to provide bodies, if not the quality the squad lacks.
I believe GP knew that there wasn’t a lot of money to spend, so making moves to get rid of the players who weren’t up to task, was the best outcome for this window.
Hey, I’m just pleased we didn’t lose anyone big. Lukebakio and Bade stuck around, those losses could have been disastrous without a clear, reliable replacement. No stress on losing Barco or Nianzou, as Marcao is a better backup anyhow.
PS - I’m predicting a rocket goal by Gudelj in the next two matches just to remind us that at least he has some skills that we all have appreciated in the past. You heard it here first.
Disappointing transfer window, it’s verging on criminal to not get a central defender and we need to be looking to replace Carmona and Salas. At least there’s a potential front line with the addition of Akor.
Suso is an enigma, he’s the only player we have that can hold the ball and direct play a little, nobody else can do that apart from Ejuke, the ball is like a hot potato to the rest of the squad. I don’t know why Pimienta never used Suso.
There needs to be some push-back against the salary cap, they dress it up in fancy phrases but everyone knows it’s just a control lever and not for the benefit of the clubs. It’s not even legal, it’s a restrictive practice and they’re not legal in EU law. To get round it they sell it as ‘approved by governing bodies’, ‘Uefa approved’, and totally consensual.
I agree. There’s a lot of good coming our way. We’re actually doing well with the resources we have. I really do wish we could get a CB and a good CM to feed our Forwards in the right moments.
I don’t understand the salary cap. How does it even work?
Gudelj tried to score a rocket goal a few times this season, but nothing…
He is a very below average player that needs to give 100%, his absolute fucking best, to become average in a match.
He was a pair with Bade even in the 2023-24 EL triumph. But in those knockout matches he played well because he gave his absolute… and nothing but absolute best.
This season he was well below average because he simply didn’t care. When you don’t fully concentrate and care about the team, you go back to the genesis - which for Bade is a below average player, nothing else.
Add to this that he’s the captain of the team, sadly… and this becomes a huge FUCK YOU to the Sevillistas. I’m a shit player and I don’t even care… there’s no one else to replace me because there’s a crippled Marcao and Nianzou is out… I’m guaranteed a spot.
He’s literally insulting the shirt of Sevilla and all the Sevillistas with what he’s doing this season. Utterly disgraceful by a so called professional footballer. But even more disgraceful is that GP is playing him all the time. He should be benched. Captain? Never ever…
But we have a ball-less coach and a super ball-less management, otherwise things like these wouldn’t happen.
Rumors are that Marcao could still leave, in leagues where the transfer window is still open.
That would leave us with literally only Bade and the legendary Gudelj for the rest of the season.
One option would be to assign Agoume as a CB. He’s clumsy and slow, but a club that doesn’t have more aspiration than fighting to stay up wouldn’t need more than that perhaps.
Based on what? What is it about him that makes you think he doesn’t care? On the contrary he’s been one of those players that have never complained about his position and done everything the coaches asked of him. Granted, he is not on a level that the club should aim for if we want to be a Europa League or Champions League-team, but questioning his dedication is just wrong.
Again: based on what? What has he done that makes you think he doesn’t give a shit?
Lack of commitment (running, tackles, fighting spirit in overall). Poor positional awareness, lack of concentration. No leadership skills to be a captain - doesn’t chat with refs, no motivation for teammates etc. (for locker room, I can only suppose, but from what is seen on the pitch, there’s most likely a lack of that too).
Do you want more, or that should be enough?
