We might see a fimiliar face again at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán soon:
I’ve always liked him and was shocked we gave up on him.
Juve observed Dodi and Brighton interested in Ejuke
MARCA is reporting that Carmona will renew through 2028.
Samu Omorodion, a very in-form and skillful striker who is having an amazing time at Porto, last called up for the Spain NT (debut) says that he loves to live in Sevilla…
Fucking management… hello???
Everyone at Sevilla FC should be all over him now. We know our strikers are piss poor this season and there’s no light in the end of the tunnel for any of them. The goals from our strikers are as scarce as water in Sahara…
Yet no word, no action… nothing.
Clubs go into extra debt to get someone like Samu… but the imposters we have in the management team are simply clueless.
But once a team like Atlético enters the race, you really think we stand a chance?
Okay, i typed that, then went to check how much he went for. I didn’t know Porto signed him for only €15M. Even from Granada, Atlético only paid €6M??
I know the board didn’t want to spend too much money, but damn…
When a player wants to live in a certain city at all costs (note: dreams to live in Sevilla), a club like us already has an advantage.
It’s a matter of approach and tactfulness.
These are the type of things Monchi was good for. And he had proven himself to the point where he was allowed to go over the club’s budget. The breakup was so bad, Orta was still doing damage control in his 2nd summer.
Orta is gonna have to earn some of that goodwill, so signings like Sow & Agoume had better pan out. Those are the only 2 of the signings where Victor spent money, whose value is still up in the air in terms of increase. Peque can be on that list too if he starts to stagnate.
But the fact that a defender wasn’t added to the team, just tells me Orta’s hands were tied. And there was no way a player like Samu would end up here, no matter the transfer fee.
And may i add, he at least managed to pull a player like Saul. That alone was impressive. But let’s wait it out in the event that it happens to be a case of damaged goods.
Salary is a concern too, not only Transfer fee. We have the lowest payroll available in the top flight I think, so not a lot of wiggle room.
According to todofichajes.com Badé to Liverpool for €25m is a done deal in January.
I beIieve it but I’m not sure why that’s the case, I presume it’s set by la liga to represent what a club can affford but if that’s the case, what are the criteria?
Let’s see if Badé ends up with Liverpool, Sevilla will snatch at €25m for sure.
It’s a bit complicated and hard to actually imagine how Sevilla are within their 2024/2025 limits. We can only spend 2.5 million Euros on salaries for the entire sporting department. This includes first-team members, managers, assistants, youth/second team, etc. I don’t see how that is possible.
Factors considered include expected revenues and outgoings for the coming season, but also profits and losses from previous years, overhead costs, non-player contracts, current savings, any existing debt repayments, investments and sources of external financing.
This squad cost limit is the total amount that a club can spend on their first-team players, first-team coach, assistant coach and head physio, as well as their reserve teams, academy and any non-registered squad players.
Clubs who have exceeded their salary limit are also affected when they sell players — as the majority of money coming in must be put towards paying off past debts.
Squad Cost Limit
This Squad Cost Limit is the maximum amount that each club/SAD can spend during the course of the 2024/25 season following the summer transfer market (and for the next winter market), including spending on the first team in relation to players, the manager, assistant manager and fitness coach (registrable squad, as defined in Art. 38 of the Budget Preparation Rules). This limit also includes spending on the reserves, the youth system and other areas (non-registrable squad, as defined in Art. 38 of the Budget Preparation Rules).
The items included in the eligible and non-eligible squad cost limits are: fixed and variable salaries, social security, collective bonuses, acquisition costs (including agents‘ commissions) and amortisations (players’ purchase amount calculated annually according to the number of years of the player’s contract).
Each Club or SAD proposes its Squad Cost Limit to LALIGA, in compliance with the rules for drawing up club budgets, and it’s the responsibility of the LALIGA Validation Body to approve the proposed limit or, where appropriate, rectify it up to the amount that guarantees the Club’s financial stability.
A Club/SAD’s application for its Squad Cost Limit does not always correspond to its maximum limit. A Club/SAD can apply for the limit it deems appropriate to meet its sports expenditure budget, as long as it does not exceed its maximum limit. It should also be noted that the application of the Squad Cost Limit does not imply that it will be utilised in its entirety.
The Squad Cost Limit may be increased under the conditions and in accordance with the procedure set out in Title III of the Club and SAD budgeting rules.
I can’t find the Article 38 Rules, but that would be interesting to get more details.
IIRC, contract already signed does not count into the 2.5M limit, so basically mean you can only spend 2.5M on new contract and transfer.
Example is Barca during Covid time, their limit is negative in one of the season.
Pretty sure that is correct. It’s basically a really hard limit to get us back in balance.
Won’t be able to get him until summer 2025, but Bryan Gil is killing it lately. In top-form, scoring for both Girona and the Spain NT.
Happy to see the guy doing well.
Rumors that Sevilla may break the Barco loan deal.
I know it probably wouldnt happen but would any of you take Simon Kjaer back for the rest of the season, given he has played for the club and is a free agent?
Hi Ethan and welcome. His leadership could be of use, but I think he’s a bit past his prime. If we sell Badé we will need to add some depth to the back line.
He is available on a free, if bade leaves, personally i think we need two more CBs anyway, he is available on a free which is what we have conducted signing Ejuke, Iheanacho, Nyland, Alvaro Fernandez. This seems like common sense, even if he wasnt great the first time we had him, expectations were different then
