Sevilla FC 2025 Transfer Rumors

Where are the Rafa Mir haters at?!

Thanks for clarifying, though how Real Madrid can register so many players on astronomical wages will probably be a mystery to me.

Below are some quote from several reddit post, not the most up to date though.

So basically it seems Monchi 2nd spell epic failure transfer from 2019 to 2022 (Marcao, Nianzou, Januzaj, Mir…) is 50% the reason why we can’t register players today, even after the sales of Bade.

Another half is of course Lopetegui/Monchi/Castro ambitious plan before Covid which they refuse to sell YEN, Ocampos and several others for high because “great club doesn’t buy low sell high” and “Lopeball need consistency”. So when 2022/23 we drop to lower half table and lose something like 100M in revenue (also due to Covid), we’re done and it still affect us today. (just my 2 cents, correct me if i’m wrong)

So first and foremost, La Liga’s salary cap rules are incredibly complex…
the actual Salary Cap Limit (SCL) takes budgeted revenues and subtracts debt repayments, non-sporting expenses etc to calculate the limit. This creates an especially adverse affect on heavily debt laiden clubs like Barcelona. For the 2023/24 season, Real Madrid’s SLC is 86% of its 2022/23 revenue; Atletico Madrid’s is at 66%, Barcelona just 21% (thanks to it’s ridiculous levers in 2022 and its staggeringly high debt repayments - as this year revenue will ‘drop’ to around €859m from an exceptional €1.25bn). Most other La Liga sides such as Sevilla, Villarreal, Bilbao, Sociedad have a cap around 70-90% of their turnover IRL.

Where further complexity is added, is when a club is exceeding the salary cap. From 20/21, the 1/4 rule was added, which essentially means if a team is over the cap and then sells a player, 1/4 of the transfer fee can be added to the budget for the revised calculation. Simply put, if you sold a player for €20m, €5m would be added to your revenue total and your salary cap would go up accordingly (just over €95k per week). This “1/4 gain” rule is increased to 1/2 for a club selling a player whose wages are more than 5% of the SCL.

La Liga is known for having extremely strict FFP regulations, which applies a salary cap designed to reduce spending based on projected revenue and the level of debt a club is under…

Most Barça and Real Madrid fans hate the system, yes. If you support a smaller team that is trying to do things the right way and live within its means, it’s great. As long as we keep our finances under control, we will be able to hold on to our players for longer instead of having Real Madrid and Barcelona poaching the best players of every Spanish team.

Some teams are having trouble dealing with the regulations (I’m looking at you, B e t i s), but that’s mostly because they have been allowed to overspend for far too long so they’ll need time to kick the habit just like a heroin addict does. In the long run it will force clubs to live within their means and reduce the risk of clubs going under, which is a risk that hits close to home as a Real Sociedad fan.

LaLiga’s rule lets clubs register players with transfer/signing costs below 1.5% of net revenue without using registration advances.

I agree! I especially don’t understand the debt numbers. Some say 90€ million, others say 300€ million. I just don’t know what to trust lol.

But it is what it is

Loads of sources are now saying the final sale will be lukebakio for about 30 million. This in order to register rest of players and just about survive financially.

This would probably be the nail in the coffin for us this season and will officially make us relegation contenders.

You sell the only player capable of making something out of thin air when everyone else is playing like Tercera players.

You’re done as a club.

I totally agree. If lukebakio goes along with bade and no one comes in or no one good comes we screwed. Our best defender and attacker goes and we weaker than last season where we barely survived.

Cordon right now. Trying to swim against all tides and with a pretty impossible job.

Being linked (AS) to Martin Ortega a RB of Tigre in Argentina. He’s also drawing interest from Italy. He holds an EU passport.

From Pablo Maffeo to Martin Ortega… what a disaster

What happened to Maffeo anyway, the rumour completely died out. Even if he isn’t top tier he has a sort of personal vendetta against Vini Jr which would be entertaining when we face Real Madrid.

Hope :poop: have to cut back on spending soon, would be interesting to see how they cope.

He’s very solid defensively, something that we need, especially after lacking a lot of it with Carmona and even Juanlu.

The AC Milan Secretary/director is in the stands for Sevilla-getafe. Make of that of what you will but I don’t think he’s there purely to enjoy Sevilla vs Getafe.

Nah he’s here to look at the collection of talented players that Sevilla possess, all one-of-a-kind and absolutely vital to any successful season.

In no particular order, we have:

  • Joan Jordan
  • Tanguy Nianzou
  • Marcao
  • Jose Angel Carmona
  • Kelechi Iheanacho
  • Adnan Januzaj

They are also welcome to take Rafa Mir off Sevilla’s hands, all transport fees will be covered by the club and fans to ensure these quality players leave the province of Seville as quickly as possible.

Guess we can add Nyland to the list.

I’m not sure how far off Sevilla are from having the ability to register players again but with state of the finances right now some aggressive measures might be necessary.

Let’s start with Lukebakio, I understand he would be a massive loss but given he is approaching 28 his value is probably near its peak. Better to sell him to the highest bidder than hold onto him then get relegated and be forced to sell at a discount.

Agoume I would keep, as he’s younger and the market for physical midfielders is always there, also the team has a dearth of any talent in the middle of the park compared to wingers, which we really have too many.

Lastly, aside from Lukebakio the club should take a look at others who can make way to register the new signings. Given the amount of wingers I would see if there is any interest for Ejuke, Peque and/or Vargas. Even Isaac Romero would be considered as he plays best in a two striker lineup which both Pimienta and now Almeyda rarely utilize.

This will be a tough season but extreme times call for extreme measures, worst case scenarios are either being relegated or live a tortured existence like Valencia.

You summed that up well. Great post. It is grim but the harsh truth is we unlikely to get any quality player now due to all this mess to sort first and just 6 days left.

We are going to have to hope the new keeper and Suazo at full back are incredible. As that all we got considering bade left and Lukebakio likely going. We may even lose someone else too.

We lost Saul and lokonga too and only agoume is okay in centre midfield. We don’t have any great strikers and a weak defence.

These clubs know we desperate as well so they don’t need to rush and get best price for them. Unless we sell to a club desperate to buy this lukebakio situation could drag to final 1-2 days leaving hardly anytime to get anyone in.

We really need a lot of luck to stay up this season. I can’t see us getting to 40 points so got to pray there is a lot garbage down there. I just hope we don’t do a Valladolid and we can fight to stay up.

This Girona match is huge. As it feels like a basement battle match. It feels like the winner can maybe say we at least can fight against relegation as the loser could potentially get left behind.

Both clubs lucky to stay up last season and in real trouble now too.

Things are so dire that the team has supposedly offered Marcao a one-year extension for the reduction of his salary to spread out his salary over the course of another year, allowing for the registration of one or more of the signings.

I’d also point out as the disfunction around Sevilla has been so public, they’re quite an easy target for any journalist looking to sell a story or fill their word count.

Don’t believe everything you read, Corndog’s work will be down to the (transfer) deadline, so try not to react to every headline and story printed over the next five days.

If Corndog sells Lukebakio because he hasn’t properly done his homework and came to the situation where selling Dodi is the necessary thing to do, unnecessarily… then I’m calling #Corndog OUT!
