Sevilla FC 2025 Transfer Rumors

Hey guys, been away for a while but been keeping an eye on the transfer activity (or lack of).

The new signings don’t really fill me with excitement and the huge pile of dross that has plagued the team is still here stinking up the place. Knowing they probably haven’t much cash to spend I looked up the free agents and there are few interesting names such as Zouma, Ziyech, Paco Alcacer and even Sergio Reguilon. I think a few of them would be interested in joining but have to take a major wage cut.

On departures I reckon the club have to sell in order to register anyone so sales are unavoidable, Bade was a logical sale as he is still young and is pretty decent when surrounded by competent teammates. Really wish we got rid of Mir and Iheanacho. Carmona is pretty dismal so letting him go for anything past 20m would be a nice pickup, just hope that means we can keep Juanlu. If Antonio Cordon has his hands tied financially his plan would probably be to play Agoume as much as possible and hope he turns into the next Kondogbia, earning the club >30m when he eventually leaves.

Would be a steal and a half! Let’s hope so.

I’m seeing that Agoume is being linked with a move to Man Utd.

Cordon is working wonders it seems on outgoings.

Getting about 29 million for bade, 18 million for Juanlu and maybe 12 million for Carmona.

That nearly 60 million which is fantastic. The issue now is getting quality replacements who are an upgrade at this late point.

I trust cordon to get it right but time is against us and I don’t trust those at top to let him spend it all. If they do I think can get 3-4 decent signings but it up in the air at moment.

Things looking a bit better but more to do. Vamos!

With the exception of 1 decent season in the Bundesliga, which was already 7 years ago, Alcacer’s career has been a big let down since he stupidly left Valencia. [Stupid as in, at a young, developmental stage, his choice of new destination was Barcelona, who had peak Messi-Suarez-Neymar.] He hasn’t even been able to get to double figures in the UAE league. Carlos Soler is rumoured to be interested in a return to Spain, but would probably be too costly in terms of wages?

Yeah @JohnV what a crazy decision that was for Alcacer. What a player at Valencia, Barcelona and Villarreal.

What are most Valencia fans views of players who play for Villarreal? You have had a number that have played for both that impacted positively at both clubs.

According to Diario de Sevilla, Juanlu deal is done for around 18 million euros. According to the article, this will allow for the registrations of all the new signings.

Chris, Villarreal are a much better run and better organised team, slightly jealous of what they’ve done with a much smaller fanbase and history. We gifted Parejo to them for 2m and now he’s close to being one of their top 10 players of all time by appearances. Dumb. I don’t begrudge any player leaving the trainwreck that Peter Lim has turned Valencia into. Life is short, playing careers are even shorter and players’ main responsibility, be it at Sevilla, Valencia or wherever is to the financial well-being of themselves and their families and the ownership at Valencia don’t seem to have any game plan except keep the team on life support, mulling around mid-table and avoiding relegation. Worryingly, Sevilla’s ownership seem to be turning your club into a poor tribute act, which ain’t the way to go.

If Corndog can get some money for Carmona I’d say ‘good deal’. As I previously wrote he doesn’t look like a guy with confidence and it could get very hostile at the RSP. I think it would do him good with some fresh air and in a club that isn’t licking its wounds.

3.53 - Of the central defenders with at least 50 games who have played in

@LaLiga

since the 2022/23 season, only Unai Núñez (3.87) and Dani Vivian (3.66) have averaged more possesion won in defensive third than Loïc Badé ! (3.53) in all competitions.

A few additional rumors scraped up by AI this week:

Nicolás Tagliafico (Lyon): Sevilla is reportedly considering a move for the Argentine international left-back.
Nicolás Benedetti (Mazatlán FC): The Mexican midfielder has been linked to Sevilla.
Miguel Merentiel (Boca Juniors): The Uruguayan striker is another player rumored to be on Sevilla’s radar

Anyone have any insight on these players or intel on the rumors?

Yeah agree with that, guy was probably going to be the next best forward from Valencia but he left for Barca and was never the same. Glad he’s probably not coming. I went further down the list a few familiar names popped up including Karl Toko Ekambi, Munir and Aboubakar. Though I don’t think getting more firepower is Cordon’s main aim right now.

They’re doing wonders given their statue and budget, and their current model is reminiscent of our past practices - buy low and sell high while also bringing quality youth players through the ranks. I will give the Parejo thing a pass as the team already had Jordan who was still decent along with Oscar, Oliver and Franco Vazquez. It was also Rakitic’s homecoming so I reckon Parejo wouldn’t have played at all.

Not sure how much will actually be used to buy reinforcements, and if they will be any quality at all. Sevilla are not linked to a lot of players and those who are linked are unheard of or mediocre. Tough times.

I agree. Yeah it tough times. It going to be tough to even register all our players before we trying make a new signing or 2.

Villarreal really are a revelation and model club to follow in this league. They run very well. They sell well and buy well. That used to be us and hopefully we get back to them standards in the future. It difficult times right now but it is what it is.

Bade signing for Bayer Leverkusken is official for €29m.

According to AS, ourselves and Nottingham Forest are in talks over a potential swap deal with Sevilla valueing Carmona at €12m while Forest have a €10m asking price on David Carmo.

I’d seen the Benedetti rumour in the papers at the start of the summer, but it didn’t seem to go anywhere as all the talk was of exits rather than incomings.

Merentiel at 29 seems a bit old for a transfer to Europe as his potential sell-on would be limited. He scored vs Benfica at the Club World Cup this summer and seems unlikely to be sold by Boca as he’s one of their main attacking players.

Tagliafico was rumoured to be on Sevilla’s radar after he cancelled his contract following Lyon’s short-lived relegation due to severe financial issues. Tagliafico has signed a new contract with the club after the DNCG (French financial control) cleared Lyon to play in Ligue 1 this season.

Hope that helps

Carmona refusing to go. Juanlu deal looks off right now. We only got money for bade so far and can only register 1 player in Vargas. We in a real state with nearly only a week left of the transfer window.

In order to sign up rest of players or maybe make a new signing they might be forced to sell lukebakio or agoume. As no one else appears to be going and the bade money isn’t enough to cover it.

What a mess!

Let’s hope things resolve themselves in the next week! :folded_hands:

Same here to be honest. The salary cap is confusing and same with financial position of club.

There has been lots of sources saying different things. I think though we need to sell 1 or 2 more to sign up everyone else and add new players.

If not we can probably try get a couple on loan or on free/very low fee. However, we need quality and can only happen if we got some money to spend.

It a rollercoaster right now but we got just over a week to make things happen.

A Carmona Carmo swap would have been good since the team is crying out for a centre back but if Carmona is refusing to go not much can be done, the RSP crowd may let him feel the full brunt if it though.

The La Liga registration rules are confusing as ever and I think you can only register if your income matches your expense and your wages are also under control. Barca is a good example and I think Real can register so many players as many came as free agents. Since Sevilla have sucked at selling anyone in the past 5 years wages are the way to go.

If the club really can’t register enough players just de-register the highest earners. I read somewhere that Januzaj is one of the highest earners here, just de-reg him as he offers eff all on the pitch and the squad is filled with wingers anyway.

You can’t do that. Once you sign a player they count towards your FFP for as long as they have a valid contract. You cannot deregister them to free up space in the salary cap. Their wages still count towards the financial limits, whether they play or not. You can terminate the contract, but then you have to pay compensation, usually equivalent to the remaining salary, which also counts towards FFP. Those rules exist for a reason, to stop clubs messing players around and playing games to get around FFP. So unless Januzaj nobly decides to give up his remaining salary, it’s not happening. And why should he? Which of us here would give up our labour/financial rights to allow the company we work for to hire someone else?
