Sevilla FC 2025 Transfer Rumors

What positions do you all think we need to reinforce most urgently to be competitive:

I’ll do my take below.

Midfield 100 percent! A great midfield can provide for average forwards while protecting average defenders.

I think your circles are pretty accurate. Considering everything else is status quo I think it was pretty evident that our midfield were bang average and our strikers had lost their mojo.

Rumours of Sow returning to Germany and with Sambi and Saul gone, I hope the midfield is being looked out at with the highest priority

This

And this

What do you all reckon is the likelihood that Rafa Mir actually joins the squad? I assume it’s near zero, but then again, unless Valencia somehow wants him, with this court case hanging over his head and the amount of shit he was throwing at SFC, I can only imagine contract recission as the only likely outcome this summer

He’s been shown in training with the squad over the last couple of days.

I would’ve thought he’d have been put up for sale, but like a number of the other forwards (and last season’s loanees), it’s harder to find buyers when they haven’t played a lot over the last couple of seasons.

I set up a recurring AI research plan to pull rumors and official transfers. Here’s what popped up this week:

  • Nemanja Maksimović, Jens Cajuste, Nilson Angulo, Djibril Sow, Mahamadou Doumbia, Luis Milla, Mateo Cassierra, Lucien Agoumé, Junior Dina Ebimbe, Giannis Konstantelias, Eduard Spertsyan, Loïc Badé, Mauro Júnior, Cyle Larin, Marcão, Iñaki Peña, and Roberto Fernández are among the many players Sevilla has been linked with for potential arrivals/departures.

Discuss.

Intrigued with Maksimović simply because I already know how to pronounce his first name :joy:

He’s worse than Gudelj, now do the math.

No more utter crap in the midfield!

My lack of football knowledge regarding almost any other club than Sevilla puts me at a disadvantage here since none of the names (besides our own obviously) rings a bell.

Are they midfielders? That’s good enough for me. Sign them all.

In other news it looks like the first official Cordon-signing will be a dude name Gabriel Suazo. A chilean left-back out of contract since he and his former club, Toulouse, didn’t extend it. We do only have Pedrosa there, so I guess that’s a logical enough signing. Dunno if he’s good though…

Sounds like a great signing when I checked the reaction of most Sevilla fans on X. I think Cordon has a great eye for a player. He working with little or no money but if he can recruit free agents, loans and players on cheap well we can maybe get a bit excited.

I’m going to give the board a lot of credit for getting cordon and our new manager sounds promising.

I give them a lot of stick lately but if this helps turn the club then they might save themselves. It good they trying to rectify their mistakes.

Dug around the profile of Suazo, because the name sounded familiar. He played a number of years with the Chilean national team, so that explains why his name sounds so familiar but his profile is a bit strange. Colo Colo is a legit club, so playing there for 8 or 10 years is no joke, but I just wonder why his market value never shot up until he was like 25 and Toulouse got interested.

PS - Chile has started to take on a place in my heart next to Uruguay as the nastiest of CONMEBOL national teams, so I also am a bit default biased against Chilean nationals.

Club is looking for a lot of attackers, but I’m surprised they’re not reported to be looking at a ton of midfielders.

What do you all think about Diego Luna from from the MLS potentially if Sevilla went after him?

I get what you are saying, but, I think that is what this team needs. We need some real dirt flinging Gary “Pitbull” Medal mentality on this in my opinion soft roster.

Looks like a promising player; however, probably out of our price range for a transfer fee and I don’t think he’s any better than our current wingers. I think he is going to get some looks. I thought I read recently where Celta Vigo was interested.

He’s just signed. I feel like he’d compare with Acuña as he can play CB, LB & LM, but don’t know if he’s quite at Acuña’s level though

I think Acuna in-form was one of the best LB’s in the world. Had some top class performances and was a real fighter when he stepped up, but I’d rather like a consistent, decently average LB instead. Acuna was inconsistent and often performed below his level.

It’s worse when you know what a player can give and he doesn’t give it all.

All in all, Gabriel Suazo looks like a good signing. Let’s see what he’s made of in the coming months.
