Had to double take your profile pic to figure out who it was…weird one you’ve found for the coach!

Juanlu the next/first to go? Looks like a deal with Napoli is closing in. Might just be the first domino to fall to get things going.

Although it’s kinda annoying we are selling one of the canteras I actually quite enjoyed watching play, I guess it’s just the way things are when you look at our current predicament.

Few seasons back we would have finished a decent season, but still have 12 arrivals and 10 departures. Wild times.

Now we had one of the worst seasons in the club’s history, but nothing seems to be happening in terms of playing personnel changes. I know we just recently changed Technical Director, but I honestly expected at least something by now…

Jordan is out for months with a herniated disk surgery. A weak midfield is even weaker.

I think they waiting until august. They waiting for departures first as we got no money to spend on players. We relying on good loans and free transfers which isn’t easy. We can maybe buy someone if they get good money for any sales. It tough times right now though.

Heard rumors about Karl Hein, 23 year old estonian GK from Arsenal, spent last season on loan at Valladolid. Dont know the reliability of this, but it is a rumor.

My read of that rumor was that they thought they could swap out our second keeper Álvaro for this guy to have a stronger backup option. Somehow I doubt he’d be competing for top spot, at least initially.

Nyland is utter crap, we should focus on getting a stronger first choice… first.

Mateo Mejía to Burgos CF. Unknown at this time what the transfer fee is.

This one stinks as he was an exciting prospect IMO. Seven goals last season for SAT.

Interesting, Atlanta United in MLS is signing Juan Berrocal from Getafe. Juan grew up in the Sevilla FC academy.

Rumors that a couple of Serie A squads are knocking on the door for Vargas. Would be a real shame to lose him, but when I saw what we paid for him (2.5m!), I wouldn’t frown on a 500% return on that contract, 6 months later.

Hopefully we don’t send him to Italy at 5 m or something stupid.

We were playing better last season with him and then as soon as he got injured we went on a skid.

Compiled some transfer rumors and had AI fact check them. A handful of interesting rumors floating around and a couple clearly fanciful thinking rumors:

  • Nicolás Benedetti & Miguel Merentiel (from Mazatlán FC & Boca Juniors):
    • Source: These rumors appear to originate from aggregator sites like 365Scores and a Reddit thread on the r/BocaJuniors subreddit, both dated around mid-July 2025. The Reddit thread discusses a potential €18 million release clause for Merentiel.
    • Verdict: These are lightly sourced rumors with no confirmation from major sports journalism outlets. The discussion revolves around fan speculation and second-hand reports.
  • Elias Montiel (from Pachuca):
    • Source: This rumor was also listed on 365Scores and discussed in the r/LigaMX subreddit around mid-July 2025. The Athletic also profiled him during the Club World Cup.
    • Verdict: While he is a player on the radar of European clubs, the direct link to Sevilla is not strongly substantiated by mainstream sports news at this time.
  • Louis Munteanu (from CFR Cluj):
    • Source: The primary reporting on this player comes from the Daily Record in Scotland, linking him to Celtic. The reports from late July 2025 mention an unnamed French club making a significant offer.
    • Verdict: There is no credible source linking him directly to Sevilla. The current rumors are focused on Celtic and a club in France.
  • Bono (return from Al-Hilal):
    • Source: This appears to be largely speculative. Catalan outlet xcatalunya.cat mentioned the possibility in mid-July 2025. Earlier in July, Sports Illustrated reported on Erling Haaland refuting claims he tried to convince Bono to join Manchester City, but this did not involve Sevilla.
    • Verdict: This is a fan-driven rumor based on his successful past with the club. There is no hard evidence of an impending return.
  • Exequiel Zeballos (from Boca Juniors):
    • Source: Reputable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported Sevilla’s interest on June 22, 2025, as covered by outlets like Mundo Albiceleste.
    • Verdict: This is a credible rumor from a reliable source, though news has been quiet since the initial report in late June.
  • Adam Aznou (from Bayern Munich II):
    • Source: FC Bayern’s official website and Everton FC’s YouTube channel confirmed his transfer to Everton on July 29, 2025.
    • Verdict: This rumor is now outdated and debunked, as the player has officially signed with Everton.
  • Azzedine Ounahi (from Marseille):
    • Source: Morocco World News reported on July 21, 2025, that he is on the verge of joining Girona.
    • Verdict: The credible reports point towards a permanent move to Girona, not Sevilla.
  • Abdel Abqar (from Alavés):
    • Source: OneFootball reported on June 30, 2025, that Abqar and Deportivo Alavés had parted ways at the end of his contract.
    • Verdict: He is a free agent, which makes him a plausible target. However, there are no strong, recent reports specifically linking him to a move to Sevilla over other clubs.
  • Mykhailo Mudryk (loan from Chelsea):
    • Source: This rumor traces back to a Goal.com article from March 24, 2025. The article framed it as Sevilla taking inspiration from Real :poop:’s loan of Antony.
    • Verdict: This is an old rumor that has not resurfaced with any new information. It seems to have been speculative at the time and is likely no longer active.
  • Juanlu Sánchez (outgoing to Napoli):
    • Source: Gianluca Di Marzio reported on June 12, 2025, that Napoli were in talks with Sevilla for the player, with a disagreement on the fee (€15M offered vs. €20M asked). This was widely covered, including in a Reddit thread on r/soccer.
    • Verdict: This is a credible and well-sourced rumor. While he was officially promoted from the B-team, a sale is still very much a possibility as reported by reliable sources.
  • A Premier League breakout star (holding midfielder):
    • Source: This is too generic to be fact-checked against a specific player. It likely stems from general analyses of Sevilla’s needs.
    • Verdict: Without a name, this is just speculation about the club’s transfer strategy rather than a concrete rumor.

Honestly, talking about arrivals, anything that involves a transfer fee is fake in my eyes. I think they are only willing to bet on some free agents.

Our roster is already full of junk, so even free agents are unlikely in my opinion. But I looked at the transfermark.com free agents, and there are some interesting players available for Sevilla:

  • Wissam Ben Yedder
Ofcourse controversial, but we know he loves the club and that he’s able to find the back of the net.

  • Grzegorz Krychowiak
I used to love this guy during his spell at Sevilla. Maybe can patch up a whole (center midfield) in our roster for a season or two to end his career.

  • Sergio Reguilon
Another fimiliar face. He was class during his spell at Sevilla. Still only 28 years old. I hope Suazo does well, but I would’ve picked Sergio for sure if it was my call to fill the left back spot.

  • Luuk de Jong
Had a weird spell at our club (and Barca loan). But honestly is more of a goal-getter than anyone else we have on the roster. I am definitely no fan of Luuk, but I would not mind a return in the current state we are in. Well, as long as we wouldn’t have had such a large amount of deadwood in this position already.

  • Jose Campaña
Our old cantera can return and fill our weak midfield coverage. Useful for the team, but I think also fun for the fans and Jose himself.

  • Nicolas Tagliafico
Another leftback I would’ve picked over Suazo. Experienced as both a captain, in the championship league and in a world cup winning team. Class player.

  • Thomas Partey
Already showed he can play LaLiga at a high level at Atlético. Plays a position we need bodies in, so would be a class addition.

Than some people I want to mention because they are interesting players and also Spanish speaking:

  • Munir el Haddidi (yes, a comeback - but too many attackers already)
  • César Azpilicueta (would temporarily fill centerback need)
  • Rafinha (experience and midfield)
  • Miralem Pjanic (midfield)
  • Lucas Vázquez (maybe to fill hole if Juanlu leaves)

Other interesting players

  • Luka Jovic (we helped ‘failed players’ before successfully - and striker position can’t get much worse anyway)
  • Kurt Zouma, Victor Lindelof, Samuel Umtiti (center back needs)
  • Hakim Ziyech, Christian Eriksen (can maybe provide some of what Isco does for :poop:…)

Nothing happening till somebody leaves. Besides the Juanlu to Napoli transfer taking forever, I read recently that Girona is interested in Pedrosa.

And word is that we still haven’t registered these 5 players: Akor, Alfon, Vargas, Suazo & Ferllo.

My impression is that it’s just smart business not to register until you absolutely have to, so I don’t put much stock in that anxiety around registering new players. Unless you’re Barca and you’re printing money with imaginary funds, I haven’t regularly seen clubs sign players they can’t register.

Definitely some folks need to get moving on, as the roster is too big, but that’s just a question of how much we bleed cash at the end (eg. Rafa Mir again insisting to make full salary if he’s loaned out…). If I have to restart my Rafa Mir thread…I swear
