Such a weird offseason so far. Very few rumors and little excitement around the club, even with a changing era.
Well, there’s some kind of Adidas “reveal” this week for Sevilla, does that count?
Sadly we have no money and huge debt. The accounts day is Monday 30 June too. They show the accounts then. Hopefully we aren’t in as much debt as we fear. We need to sell before we can buy. For now we can only do loans or free transfers which isn’t easy with not much quality out there with them options.
I think to be able to sell some players on high wages and long contracts: Nianzou, Marcao, Iheanacho, Adams, Jordan, Mir and Januzaj, would be a great start and as good as a new signing
Sambi gone back to Arsenal & Saul has left.
I still don’t understand the debt issue. First it was 90 million, then it was 300 million. What numbers do we have for it and how did it get that high?
Maybe the debts are Crypto-denominated?
Cordon recently said in an interview there won’t be any signings till at least August. To give time for players to leave first, the new manager to arrive and settle and to clear the debt a bit.
He said to Sevilla fans to be patient but they will explore loan moves and free transfers as they know finances are very restricted right now. We will probably sign a couple of players on cheap too. We got to see what comes available in the market.
What you all neglect to recall is this AMAZING, stellar, highly competitive list of signings that we’re about to get back:
Joan Jordan, Januzaj, Gattoni, Rafa Mir and Kelechi Iheanacho!
I mean, wow! Quality!
To be fair Gattoni has hardly played over the past few years. Dont know how he can be worse than Marcao or Nianzou
Alvaro Garcia pascual off to join up with Suso at Cadiz. Contract not renewed
Include the youth players: Matías Árbol, Diego Hormigo, Alexandro, Darío, and Leo Mascaró to that list of those who weren’t renewed.
so the squad as it stands right now for 2025-2026 season:
Keepers (2)
Alvaro Fernandez
Nyland
Centerbacks (6) - Really like 4 considering the two broken ones
Bade
Salas
Gattoni
Marcao
Nianzou
Ramon Martinez
Fullbacks (3)
Pedrosa
Carmona
Juanlu
Midfielders (5)
Agoume
Gudelj
Sow
Jordan
Bueno
Wingers (5)
Idumbo
Vargas
Ejuke
Lukebakio
Januzaj
Strikers/Forwards (4)
Peque
Issac
Akor Adams
Iheanacho
Rafa Mira
Current “roster” only has 25 people on it. If some of these leave, which they will, they will have to fill. I expect Bueno, Idumbo (if not sold) and Martinez to make the squad. It’s possible that Matteo Mejia to make the jump this season, but I think they may try to loan him to a Segunda team to get more exposure.
signed for another year - 11 games, 16 goals conceded. I’d be happier with Flores moving up.
First signing is Alfon Gonzalez from Celta. 26 years old, likes to play on the left wing and cut inside, but he can also play on the right or through the centre.
His pre-contract apparently had a €5 million break clause but no other club exercised it before it expired yesterday, so now he’s a Sevilla player.
Oh, that explains it. I kept reading about that clause and not understanding why a player that’s not ours would become ours if no one exercises a break clause. That’s a new one for me, but I guess I’m not that keen on contract law
Why is it that literally every season for the last 4 seasons or so, the only position that’s exciting is Winger. Every other position ranges from OK to dismal. And then we go and we sign a bunch of new wingers…
Because 3 will injure a hammy and be out half the season?
With the salary cap in the red, LaLiga’s website shows only 14 players listed as registered , and that group doesn’t include Alfon, the new arrival ; Akor Adams and Rubén Vargas, the two who arrived in January; or Álvaro ‘Ferllo’, who just renewed his contract until 2027. The red and white club would need to raise around €100 million in sales to comply with LaLiga’s 1:1 rule , and that task is becoming more complex every day. If they don’t meet it, they would only be able to register players under the infamous Article 100 for teams oversubscribed. And that would be a tightrope act.
