MD26: Sevilla FC at Getafe

Not till we win the 7th Europa.

Worried Sevilla fans! Sad times! Just glad we won last weekend really.

It would be so Sevilla to do that haha! However, I will run around my street naked if this current Sevilla team beats a resurgent Man Utd over 2 legs haha!

We were never in the game really, what a state we’re in when we can’t dominate Getafe. I don’t blame anyone just the inability to field a settled side all season, we just can’t get any rhythm going.

It would be funny to see us in CL group stages and Segunda in 2023-24…

We’re gonna suffer next season as well, probably worst than the 2 season finish 9th in a row in early 2010s.

Getafe wanted this game more than Sevilla. The fact that no one went up with Suso to try and create something, and then YEN was the only player running back on the counter attack, tells you this team are really dispondent and very much in trouble

It would be unprecedented and funny but won’t happen haha. I think neither happens. I still think we will just survive and we will lose to man Utd.

Careful there, I might hold you to that.

This is 100% a mentality problem. The Sevilla at home and Sevilla away are totally, extremely different teams - ironically with the same players and coach.

If Sampi doesn’t fix this issue during the NT break, not only that we won’t have any chance vs. Man Utd, but we’ll seriously risk going down.

Their second goal - a capsule of our season? Gueye clumsy clearance gifting the ball back to them, then En-Nesyri just switched off turning his back when the ball was still in play and just standing there in our box like a useless lump while playing their scorer onside.

So many upgrades are needed this summer, so much for Monchi to work on and improve, including his own performance based on last summer.

I don’t know what he can do with these players though? It’s not his fault overall. For one though, Jordan should never play again! He is beyond useless!

This guy is slowly turning into a pathetic back-passer a la Jordan. We jinxed it by praising him a lot in the first few matches but in the last couple of ones in La Liga he’s been dreadful in overall.

The quality of our players are just not there.
There’s no way around it.
The like of suso, Ocampos, YEN, Jordan, rakitic, Gudelj, Montiel and even Papa G, Bade are/will be bench warmer in clubs like Ajax/Lyon/Getafe.
Please sell most of the players in summer and rebuild.

No one else to play there. Fernando is suspended… no other CM/DM’s to count in. That’s why we should’ve gone with another CB or another CM/DM to cover for the 3 at the back tactics.

The only salvation would be to have Marcao back asap and play Gudelj in the mid as a backup. Jordan is not a professional football player after all… he’s a clown. Plays well once in a lifetime and then sucks for the rest of the season.

The thing is that it’s the same players playing at home too… and we’re doing quite well at home both in La Liga and EL. That’s why it’s a mentality problem more than a players problem. Similar to the 2015-16 season with Emery - only that we were still not this dreadful back then and went on to win the EL while finishing 7th in La Liga.

True you make a good point. It’s a similar trend but on a more worrying scale this season due to be embroiled in a relegation fight, I just hope our home form holds up to see us over the line.

I really don’t know how we can put together such stark differences at home vs away. It’s the same team, same coaches, most of these players were here last year when we challenged for 1st place. We gotta fix this

I really wish we didn’t have the europa league distraction this season. We have a vital match against Valencia away and we away too Man Utd away on Thursday before it. It’s the last thing we need.

Cadiz and celta who we play next are both playing well. Cadiz home form is pretty good so I’m not optimistic about that one especially.

Welp. At the very least, we may not have to worry about EL for much longer. Either that, or we beat ManU
