M5: Real Sociedad vs Sevilla FC [21/22]

Koundé from a corner ?

That isn’t title winning mentality. For fuck sakes.

Bring on Idrissi, slot Oscar and go for it!

Finally a good run deep with Rafa, almost getting it through the GK.

We have played better 2nd half to be fair. Much more lively.

A point on this ground is okay, but it is not title-winning. Kinda had it with this way of playing though…

I don’t wanna seem reactionary - but we can’t win la liga with Lope as manager. He’s too conservative, he doesn’t take risks. Playing for a draw against Sociedad is not a title winning mentality

Another 0-0 game :man_facepalming:t5: This isn’t a title winning team or play style. I’m sick and tired of this pragmatic, slow gameplay Lope has become obsessed with

Lope is not a bad coach. But I really hate his boring football.

Concise summary … We didn’t create a chance

I’m relatively happy with this in the end! Considering they missed a penalty. The 2nd half was much better. We just need to start matches better. That’s been our problem so far. There are positives to take 2nd half though and with a bit more luck and quality we could have won it.

Boring football, no passion, no blood = bad coach? (at least for me…)

He resembles Simeone a bit but is the Nokia 3310 version of Simeone.

Our motm should not have to be Bono. We’re better than Sociedad and it’s pathetic that he has to save us every week

Considering how well soceidad has started it isn’t a bad result. I honestly think all the top teams will slip up a lot this season.

Can’t come soon enough. With Emery this squad would be leader.

Second half performance was much better. Oscar and Ocampos coming on made a difference. A draw at Sociedad, who have started well, isn’t a bad result and was probably the right outcome. Keeps us unbeaten.

However it’s got to be better if we want to be genuine title contenders. Not sure what Lope was doing bringing Rekic on at the end and settling for a point. Another tough one at home to Valencia in midweek who have started well.

It’s difficult to sack a manager this early in the season, especially after last season’s point-tally. But if Lope doesn’t win something this season, he will just go down in the history of Sevilla-managers as… forgetable. Getting the points, sure, but often not due to anything besides a big portion of luck.

He is a coward coach, that’s what he was doing - acting out his character, a coward. Instead of going all in to win the game, even though the chances were still slim, he tries to play it safe with a pathetic defender like Rekik.

We will never ever make the next step into becoming a serious club like Atletico with Lope as a coach. Either he has to change his ideas/tactics and match philosophy in a revolutionary way, unheard of to this day - or we’re doomed.

Everyone is saying it but nobody is putting a name to it.
