M11: RCD Mallorca v Sevilla FC [21/22]

Mallorca deserve the lead. Way more intensity than us and we just too sloppy and slow at times. I agreed with lope on the lineup so don’t put this as much on him but the players just haven’t turned up today. I feel lope might ring the changes early in 2nd half. We need a shake because again that just wasn’t good enough. We showed poor approach play and sloppy at the back at times.

I hope we wake up fast because this isn’t pretty to watch again. Our away day troubles go on and when we go 1-0 down like this I immediately just hope for a draw at best. I worry we not capable of turning it around and on what I seen so far I’d be delighted if we somehow got a draw here. We have a lot of work to do.

I hope the team can surprise us 2nd half. Vamos!

Got to agree with most comments so far especially re Jordan.
Just wondering about this pitch it seems to be playing very slow, a lot of our passes coming up short.
Maybe they let the grass grow a bit longer or not watered much to gain an advantage? The ball is certainly not whizzing about.

Missed the first half completely. How are we doing? Any chance to win in the second? How is combination of Xavi and Busquets - Jordan playing, is the game more fluid with him there?

Hard to tell, looks just like a return to old habbits, lack of ambition and work ethic, half players slow dragging on the pitch. Not like Mallorca is pressing spectacularly, we are just in a non existent gear.

I’d actually take a draw right now and that tells you everything you need to know about our performance tonight and away from home this season…

If we can’t do Mallorca maybe we have to revise our ambitions.

The playing surface is behaving strange @Brian

Thanks for the comments guys, catching on them now.

So it seems that Lope went with a different approach compared to the Levante match. That’s terrible. Why start with Jordan and not Delaney? Why start with Acuna who doesn’t seem to be 100% still?

Let’s see if the changes (if any) in the second half will make any difference.

If we take a draw, we might as well go to the women’s toilet from now one. We need to turn this around. Put Delaney in there who at least works 100% and helps the defense and attack.

So Lope’s answer is Ocampos?

Credit to Mallorca though, they did well and have been the better team and deserve their lead. I’ve got a friend who follows them and he says they’ve been performing well all season and playing football in the right way and attractive to watch. He says they should be higher in the league. I can see that tonight. Same goes for Rayo who have been excellent so far.

We direct everything to the right side so Acuña is without much help and looks lost, not his fault. Ocampos is going to come on, I hope on the left to help Acuña but my brain and lope brain do not function the same.

Still overall I feel lope tactics aren’t as much an issue today. He has a balance of attack/defence and overall most of us were happy with the team before kick off. The players on pitch just haven’t done enough and we need more. It’s up to lope to do something to try change it though. Of course as manager he has responsibility when it goes wrong but I feel it’s less on him and more on the players just not having the intensity so far. This is very similar to levante game for team selection where we scored 5 but we can’t translate that to an away match at Mallorca like at home.

I hope things change 2nd half but we will see.

God works in mysterious ways. Let’s just pray…

We don’t have too many attacking options really besides him except maybe lamela or Oscar really.

Very nearly 2-0
