LaLiga 2021-22 Season Thread

I kind of figured that there would be a relatively large drop in financials this season. The accounting at these clubs is so convoluted and is really difficult to track. It was hard to believe that we turned a profit in 2020. I wouldn’t be surprised if we just found a creative way to push it off to this year instead.

If you think about it though, if the books close end of June, the team was only subject to 3 months of pandemic in that profit number compared to a full year of pandemic in the 2021 numbers.

just saw this. Would be interesting if there are actual salary figure.

I’ve also heard that Barca play with the numbers and put all the loss into 20-21, so they will have 1 difficult season instead of 3 and rebuild the team faster. They will probably have a huge boost to Salary cap next season.
If this is not the season we finish ahead of Barca, I don’t know when.

It’s interesting, they must account for all assets, while plant and machinery are written off at 25% original value over 4 years. I can’t imagine how they value players, is Kounde valued at his purchase value, is Bono valued at 75% of €4m?

Lots of investment in the training ground, it’s hardly recognizable from 5 years ago. They’ve sunk 10’s of millions in there and in the RSP it’s non-stop.

Goodbye to the empty seats.

The maximum possible public returns to the stands thanks to the agreement that the Ministry of Health has signed with the autonomous communities, including Andalusia, which had requested this guarantee yesterday, for the restoration of one hundred percent of the allowed capacity such and how football was lived before Covid.

The first home game with no attendance restriction will be v Levante on the weekend of 24th October. Which will also be my 1st visit to the RSP this season.

This, exactly the reason, why I said at the start we should be more self critical if we underperform hard, like we did at the start. Things looking a bit better now. But we are just obligated to perform well. Tonight no exception.

I’m glad they did it. They had to really considering the rest of Europe has virtually now. Over 80% double vaxed in Spain and hospital admissions and deaths on the floor. Happy days!

Barca fixture list coming up is brutal! I think they gonna struggle to stay near the top 4 after that! Haha

Our schedule coming up is looking good. Bunch of games against all struggling teams. Can’t lose anything, and we need to make steps forward, before it actually gets tough, resulting in we can’t keep up when we might actually need it. I count 9 games successively where we are the big favourites and need to show up, perform, and put down a good series of results.

If Barca don’t sack Koeman after tonight… then I don’t know what to say anymore.

I hope they keep him though, it’s better for us

Well Laporta said beforehand, Koeman will stay no matter what. Only reason, very likely just coz they can’t afford to kick him out and are absolutely broke. Second, maybe what kind of broken sailor wants to take over that wreck of a ship? They lived on succes and on Messi, how many ‘supporters’ will you keep when you have none of those anymore. It’s a pathetic story of business and ruination, and I absolutely have no shame in saying it brings me pleasure, that justice finally comes looking around the corner and they have to pay for the immense mess they made and start over again. You have to be an ambitious lad willing to suck urself up into that club or desperate or numb of everything kinda trainer if you take charge now. Which is directly also the positive part, there is nothing to blame on you but also little honor to be gained.

Barca are a joke club now! Might not make top 4. They are terrible!

They believe with a different trainer they become top 4? I doubt it, and If they become 5th or 7th, they shouldn’t care. I think just focus on developing what you have, give the talents plenty of time to gain experience, which will pay out double next year. It’s not that they don’t have promising players. they are still stacked on youthful talents.

Seeing Barca this bad is a joy to watch. Even our mediocre form is better than theirs lmao.

The problem for Barca is not getting top 4 is even more damaging for the clubs image, fans and financial crisis. The fans will riot but they may not be able to do anything about it. Whether they have Koeman or not they in serious decline and transition. A new manager won’t solve this for a few years.

They won’t be able to attract the top players and won’t help their financial crisis if they not in champions league at the very least. It’s more essential then ever they make it.

They have a few decent youngsters but none of them look a superstar or like a new Messi. Fati been pretty average since coming on tonight.
