Hey Tim,
Where did you get those figures from?

I would be curious as to when the fiscal year starts. From going from a profit to that big of a loss makes me wonder if that number from last year was reported with some revenued from 2019.

Was a good first half to be fair. Osasuna goal was really well worked and one of the best goals of the season so far.

I think it’s end of June to end of June, like the players contracts. I wouldn’t worry too much about the loss, it’s factually correct but will probably hide a lot of the growth and investment, like the ciudad deportivo for example. Spanish accountants are very creative and will make use of the covid crisis to hide some growth and avoid tax.

Is the Spanish gov or EU offering any kind of assistance to businesses that have had a significant drop in revenue?

Barca fans already targeting 4th place. Maybe they the new arsenal? :stuck_out_tongue:

Unless Laporta goes out and says that they aim to finish 4th for 27 seasons in a row before trying something higher, then no - we are the Arsenal of La Liga atm.

Barca is on a disastrous form and they could easily become a ‘normal’ club if not managed right, but I expect them to step it up next season with Laporta in helm.

You always think the worst case scenario haha. I might be wrong but I honestly think we will finish above Barca. We virtually better than them in nearly every area of the pitch in my opinion. Only us can choke to finish below them but on current squad we should get 3rd at least this season.

I might sound a bit arrogant or deluded but I just think we should be better than them. Messi was the only reason they just finished above us last year and now he gone. We have also strengthened our squad and kept our key players. They lost key players and hardly strengthened much.

I look at their squad and yeah they have some young talent but who can step up to save them? I just don’t see it. I think they gonna struggle to break many teams down this season.

Yes I also think we can finish above them this season and be better in overall - but I also expect them to reflect soon and be a very different Barca from the next season. The transitioning is always painful, however, they have an ambitious President (unlike us) and they’re not afraid of debt, so they’ll splash whatever is needed to get back on top as a top club that they are, while we are not. So all of this is temporary.

I will enjoy it even if it temporary. If we finish above Barca for even one season I’ll party. Never seen it happen in my lifetime and I watched la liga for years. I hope we can do it this season as for the sevilla fans it’s still a big step to where we aim to be.

The thing is he can be ambitious as much as he wants but being in debt and also falling from glory will make it difficult for them to attract the top players.

The same thing happened to AC Milan and man United. It doesn’t matter how big a club you are it can happen to any club if you badly run like Barca been for years.

Plus relying on Messi for years now is really hurting them. He was their biggest legend ever but it’s now harming them because they held on to him to long which makes this transition period even tougher and longer road. They should have planned better without Messi but they didn’t.

If they were somehow to finish outside the top 4 this season that would be disastrous for them on a financial and star attraction level.

The EU have forwarded some of the promised €11,000,000,000 covid relief already. In Andalucia there have been more reports of Bigfoot sightings than the EU money so far.

:man_facepalming:

Joking apart, the government have done a lot already for small business owners, so far nothing with the EU money.

Phew… Alaves beats Atletico, they finally didn’t do a last minute wonder!

Yep they aren’t playing well at all. If only the black magic happens to Real Madrid now then we in title winning business haha. A chance for 2nd place for us if we win later!

Good job by alaves though. They deserved the win. Atleti luck finally ran out. I feel getafe could have did the same had they not lost their heads and got a stupid red card.
