Real Madrid end :poop: perfect start to season

Umar Sadiq scored in his debut (2nd half) for Real Sociedad, contributing to a 1-1 draw vs. Atletico Madrid.

Kasper Dolberg touched the ball a couple of times and had a hard time controlling it (2nd half), contributing nothing to a 0-3 loss vs. Barca.

Excuses are pointless.

We spent €0 on Dolberg while La Real spent €20M+ on Sadiq. That’s the difference.

Dolberg shouldn’t have seen minutes today, but how else was he gonna get match fit? I could only hope he’ll score more than the number on his shirt.

There’s a ton of ways that we could’ve managed this transfer window better. No excuses please - bad is bad and things have to change.

Since we can’t ā€˜sack’ the whole squad bar Acuna… the management has to think of hiring a coach who can actually do something with less quality. We all know coaches that can do something with a strong squad… the hard part is doing something with this squad - and it’s not a bad one really, as Tim mentioned, easily top 6 - although at this rate we’re not projecting top 6, rather a relegation battle.

Nunca se rinde has to come back and it won’t happen with Lope.

In season 2013/14 we had 2 points going into week 6
3 defeats to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia
2 draws with Levante and Malaga

It was one of our biggest transfer markets with money from the sale of Navas and Negredo. Players like Vitolo, Iborra, Gameiro, Bacca, Mbia, Pareja, CarriƧo and Marko Marin coming in, along with some rather average players like Hedweges Maduro.

It really wasn’t a team for the first few games but it all clicked and came together after a couple of months. I think Emery is a more capable trainer though.

That was Emery’s first season and it would be understandable (to an extent) had this been the first season of Lope.

Espanyol won at Bilbao. Great win for them. They have braithwaite and Joselu who will cause havoc for teams. I’m very worried about us even going there next week. Especially after champions league as well. Right now I feel the champions league is an unwanted distraction considering our current plight.

Agreed, Mark. The league really has to be the focus for us. Champions League and the Copa for instance could give us some confidence that could translate into league form. Being realistic though, I can’t see us having any chance against City playing as we are right now and it is a distraction from a far more important game away at Espanyol which like you say will be tough. Any game is tough for us right now.

We could end up in the bottom three this weekend if one of Getafe or Valladolid get a result. That’s what we deserve I’m afraid and we need to improve fast.

I agree completely. We can only hope this disastrous start causes the Sevilla board to wake up fast and make some big changes. Now is not the time to delay much further.

Fair enough. Let’s start Kike Salas! Under normal circumstances, that might be sarcasm, but right not I’m almost ok with us giving up three points to ManCity just to ensure we dig out of relegation zone quickly.

I really wish we were like Villarreal right now. What a team! Just like @ShendM and @Enrico said ages ago. A proper team that play great football, have a great manager and project. They have lots of talented young players as well.

I wish so too. We’ll get back there.

I think so because Barca’s number is a huge jump.

In case you hadn’t heard this news, this week :poop: were exonerated from any punishment over last years Jordan incident in the derby in their stadium.

It reminds me of an article by Palangana MĆ©canica entitled ā€˜We are not equal’ which expressed concerns about some of :poop: escapes from justice. He goes on to quote the incident where Juande Ramos was knocked out by a bottle. But the first part is shocking.
