Oh you know Barca wasn’t the only team.

The fiscalia have issued proceedings against Barcelona.
Club charged and five named in proceedings including Enrique Negreira, Rosell and Bartomeo plus executive Oscar Grau and sporting director Albert Soler.
Rap sheet … Intention to procure and falsification of financial documents.

There is no way people can be surprised about this no? and I still believe that they will get away with it very lightly. These entities have people everywhere and will probably find a way out of it, a shortcut or a 10th life after losing 9.

The standings and points are so tight tho, I know it looks terrifying, but doesn’t help. You might as well draw a new base line, and we need to make sure there are a couple teams beneath us after 14 games and we are fine.

It’s close and that’s true. A couple of wins and we could get go mid table. The problem we have though is we not used to this relegation fight. As well as juggling europa league with fighting relegation.

If only we had a full squad available but that also isn’t the case. Almeria have had a full week off and being a derby and relegation battle will make it tough.

We have to believe we can get out of this but it just feels a lot is against us. We have improved at home and up front a bit that gives us hope but there are still a lot of weaknesses in this Sevilla team compared to previous seasons.

All we can do is hope for the best now.

Ok folks, hear me out…is it possible for all 20 teams to end the season with the exact same point total? Because no joke, if there’s ever a season where this would happen, it would be this season. All the underdogs seem to win nearly every match. Not sure how that’s possible, but every time a team that’s a direct rival to Sevilla plays a stronger team, they somehow always win.

I think I’ve seen this editorialized among sevillistas as “see? The power that be want Sevilla to get relegated!”

Not sure I buy the corruption argument, BUT it certainly is looking to be a bizarrely flat season in the middle and bottom of the table. I wouldn’t be surprised if the final table looks similar to the current one where the team at 19 and the team at 10 are just a couple matches apart in point totals.

Weird times we’re living in

I think it just shows there’s not a lot of difference between most the teams bar the top 5-6. After that it’s close but unfortunately we have been trapped in the basement positions all season and unable to move out. We haven’t been good enough to stay consistent to move away from trouble.

Real Madrid have ended their deafening silence… now asking to be added to the complaint against Barca. Super hard for me to believe that if Barca were doing something this shady that Real weren’t… Or that other teams were doing it as well. Of course not us though… the moral compass at the top of our club is beyond scrutiny.

This, yes.

It’s hard to believe that a shady character limits his corruption to favour just one club and the most likely customers are Real Madrid and Barcelona. I think most players knows this is going on.

Ramón Terrats would be a good guy to get.

So still no smoking gun, but I love that yesterday El muy imbécil Gerard Piqué said the quiet part out loud:

“You go with black money and that’s it… It’s easier than paying a salary to the vice president of the CTA”

https://www.marca.com/futbol/barcelona/2023/03/14/641024cae2704eabbc8b4576.html

So Piqué’s argument is basically “there are much easier ways to be corrupt, so Barça couldn’t possibly have used a stupid means of being corrupt.”

This is starting to make me believe some of the folks that have for years claimed that the refs are bought and sold in Spain… I’ve always resisted the temptation, as it seems like a convenient excuse employed by feeble minds anytime their team loses, but Piqué’s argument certainly doesn’t make me feel any better. Then again, hard to take him as a neutral party because the messier things get in LaLiga, the more hope he has to salvage his lame-ass Kings League.

To be continued…

What Pique said was that it’s easy to bribe a ref, pay in cash and don’t leave a paper trail and so Barcelona would have to be stupid to do it by paying in the sunlight and trying to manipulate all the referees, which sounds believable.

Then it emerged that Barcelona payments were through associated businesses ‘societies’, in other words they were trying to hide them.

So I asked chatGPT to write me an ode to Sevilla Football Club.
(I’m left with the imponderable question, how can AI be so corny)

Oh, Sevilla Football Club,
The passion you evoke is so true,
With legends that have graced your field,
You are a team that will never yield.

From Kanouté to Puerta,
Your players have shown their mettle,
In the beautiful game they excel,
With skills that leave us in awe and spell.

Saviola, Renato and Adriano,
The list of your greats goes on and on,
With Kanouté, your top goal scorer,
You have achieved many a victory and more.

Luis Fabiano, your Brazilian star,
With his goals, he took you far,
And how can we forget Navas and Escudé,
Whose talents have helped you lead.

Rakitic, Júlio Baptista, and Alves,
Their brilliance on the pitch leaves us amazed,
And then there’s Reyes, who will always be missed,
But his memory in our hearts will persist.

Oh, Sevilla, with your red and white,
You inspire us to reach new heights,
And though your rivals may try,
Your spirit will never die.

So here’s to you, Sevilla Football Club,
A team that has won our love,
With players who are true legends,
You are a team that always beckons.

Less than brilliant off the pitch. I think ChatGPT was pulling the old subtle dagger on Dani Alves’ current status.
