University has tasked me to go to a Spanish native country for 2 weeks between the beginning of December (2024) and the end of January (2025). I guess you guys already know where I am looking to go.
As it is holiday season; anyone recommendations as regard to events/happenings during that period that I should attend or avoid? I know I am early, but the heck with it…

Three kings day is January 6th. There will be a parade and lots of people out and about.
From what I remember most things are open just will be operating on a more limited schedule. Also probably no football.

Sevilla is primary target.
But I’ve been there as a kid a few times before. Also travelled across most of the southern and eastern coast. So for an new experience I also consider the areas of Basque or Galicia. But I am not sure if that is interesting enough for two weeks.

I lived in various places in the south a few years ago around Cádiz, Sevilla, Granada and Cartagena among other places. It depends on what suits you best, but I absolutely adore Sevilla and Granada. You can’t go wrong with the old traditional areas of both cities, especially in Granada with the old town of the Albaicín and the Alhambra. I love the mozárabe architecture and the people are amazing as well.

In a battle of Monchi’s Men titans (pretty bold calling myself a titan, I know…), the college of Mr @ChrisLail and my own alma mater face off in the Final Four (semis) of the National Championship (March Madness) of college basketball. Figured I’d share it here so that you all can place your bets.
In a show of friendship and solidarity, we’ve agreed NOT to watch the game together, and to support the other’s team if our team loses, partially because everyone hates the team they’ll likely face in the final (UConn, the University of Connecticut).

Just to look at Chris, it’s out of production and they reduced the price but it’s going to be a collectors item soon enough. 4 x EL34 output stage topology and it starts to smell of burning about ten minutes after switching on, love it.
But if I get any gigs I’ll be tempted to take it and give it a spin.
