UCL MD6: FC Salzburg v Sevilla FC [21/22]

The mission is simple: win. Yet, a few factors may change the optics of this match. Firstly, Salzburg will have to play behind closed doors due to Covid restrictions. Secondly, Acuña & Ocampos have both missed training, but Suso has returned to the fray. With a myriad of scenarios possible in the conclusion of Group G, how will it all transpire on Wednesday night?

Like you say Edi we just need to go out and play our game, and get the job done. None of this faffing around bullshit we tend to do when it is a tight affair like Dortmund first leg last year. :unamused:

Ocampos will be find I’m sure. He’s a warrior. Same starting 11 minus Acuna?

Is anyone suspended?

No Wober for them. He’s out injured.

Only Diego Carlos & Delaney are at risk of suspension w/ 2 yellow cards.

Got a bad feeling it will be a draw and we end up in europa. No local fans in stadium might help us though. Hopefully ocampos is fit to play and acuna is at least on the bench. Vamos!

I’m not sure if this matters but it appears as if it might snow during the match, which I feel would put Salzburg at a definite advantage.

No Suso and Acuna. Line up should be the almost the same as last time. Just hope that Montiel and Mir hold without injury, because we don’t have good alternatives.

Anything than going all out for the win would be a mistake. A draw will not guarantee 3rd place and EL because Wolfsburg can beat Lille and kick us out of Europe. A win will see us through to the next round of CL, which is the best option for many reasons, including the club’s finances and image.

I was dumbfounded for a moment and thought to myself: the effects of global warming! But then again I read about bad weather in that region just the other day. Fahrenheit got me confused as we read it in Celsius in Europe lol

Short sleeves and gloves it is then

Huge game tonight and a big test for the manager and players.

I’ve never seen the word ‘Flurry’ been used in my entire life, besides the times ‘Mc’ stands before it. Guess I learned something new today!

How are you feeling about our chances tonight? I see it as a 50-50 chance of the win but I’m leaning towards another draw. I hope to be wrong though and we bring home the bacon tonight.

I haven’t got a clue, whatever result would not surprise me, as always I just hope we play well, don’t do silly things and make the fans proud.

The youth team lost 2-0 to Salzburg earlier today. Hope that’s not repeated later.
