Lille v Wolfsburg result will be even more interesting now.
Wolfsburg are top of Bundesliga with 4 wins out of 4, while Lille sit 12th in Ligue 1 after 5 games.
It really shows last season line up is really God damn slow. Torn apart by this young Salzburg in the open first half. If itās Man City it will be another 5-0 game.
And Lamela makes A HUGE difference in the second half, he literally single handedly make up the one man disadvantage, both in offense and defense.
The best part of Lamela is that he really run his full speed and muscle for every duel especially in defense.
Even if Lope think heās less useful in possession game, you can always use another player in RW than Suso.
I actually start to wish we lose games, to make the fixtures actually show up how we are performing. Lope throughout all of his Sevilla time has been getting away with soo much just by luck. And now again, a draw in the end looks alright. But itās really bottom of the sewer pipeline play.
But letās act like we havenāt been playing god awful all our games this season and somehow show up confident and hopeful again next game.
Did anyone just see Araujos two hands in the back of Lewandowski? Now THAT was a push, but the ref didnāt even flinch. Just like it should be
Iām with Jim on this as well. you canāt blame your own stupidity on the ref. What are the push and the dive good for? Navas overcompensating or releasing frustration for terrible play and Nesyri desperate for a penalty. And what kind of situations are they even in. So unnecessary. Yeah no, blaming the ref seems fair.
Act decent, and none of that would have happened. Itās all about giving them options to give fouls. If you want them, you really can get them. One ref gives it, one ref doesnāt but we gave them plenty of options and did not learn a single thing.
I expect them to be well disciplined and they were showing a bit of petulance, but who doesnāt? Ever watched Sergio Ramos?
I think youāre both right, the ref was an abomination and we should have had the discipline, in the final analysis it didnāt work for us.
Itās a tremendous shame that the Biris are not participating, it might have swung that game with the continuous chanting and the pressure on the ref. As thing were, the stadium was like a mortuary.
It always seemed like the players werenāt psychologically prepared for this match, nor tactically. The ref was crap but of course, the main culprit is the coach, along with the players (80-20%). As I said, this would never happen with a team like Atletico.
This is what Iām talking about. Experienced refs do not fall for every slight push or dive or similar, thatās called having the match in control - the ref is the boss.
This inexperienced belarusian ref fell for literally everything and Salzburg players were smart enough to notice that, diving all over the pitch to get easy fouls. That frustrated our own players even more, add to that the lack of psychological preparation from our coach, and there you have it. One thing led to another and we almost lost in a debacle.
I come home from a rough day at school to see a 1-1 draw where both goals were a penalty
Yep, about the same here. More frustrating when youāre in class - remotely following the score and you see they got three pebalties, and en-Nesyri getting sent off
And he got sent off? Geez
The match facts makes it seem like we shouldāve lost the game. Is that true?
Agree with the points about Lope, really gets me fed up. I should go to sleep but it got me frustrated on too many levels. And one thing, connecting to the others.
-
the amount of thirty year olds bought (Lope is the one leaning to this not Monchi, Monchi just provides the options).
-
Lack of and use of young talent. Who break open games, and do the unexpected things. Who can grow and lmprove, keep first eleven players fresh. Instead again prefering all seasoned veteran who donāt show any hunger. And next game he will still play Jordan and Suso. Itās really sad.
-
No variation, he keeps saying he wants a Sevilla that is able to play any style of football. In the best case, call it a transitional period. But right now it looks like we donāt own even any style. Except maybe panicking football we got that one down.
-
The ambition. A long term project, I donāt see it. Heās a pure results based coach.
-
the effect of Lope, on the players. They have seen everything now, the new ones are unefected except Lamela who does work for two.
-
if the results go down, the values of the veterans go down, we didnāt invest enough in youth. And in a bad year you lose 100 million of value. Meanwhile our costs are touching the ceiling.
Just think about it - Oscar is in very good form and scored an absolute screamer in the friendly vs. Alaves, doesnāt even get subbed in tonight. Unless he is injured or something, this alone says a lot about Lope. Coward and nothing else!
Thereās plenty of talent there. Lamela should have started in place of Suso and Rafa Mir is going to be the buy of the season. Heās not going to score a mountain of goals but heāll do a lot of creation, the way he opens space is incomparable. Whatās up with Ocampos though, he was a player that opened a lot of space and now heās struggling.
Yeah itās really strange how Oscar just canāt get into the team. Heās young, high potential, and an attacking player. We need that in our midfield! But Lope doesnāt seem to want to play him or Oliver. Itās very, very odd
Ocampos is a shadow of his former self. He made some silly decisions tonight in terms of shots, crosses and dribbling, it was shameful to watch from a player like him.
Oliver is totally forgotten, but how can one not field the most in-form midfielder that Sevilla has? I really feel sorry for Oscar at this point. Heās a victim of Lopeās insecurity.
Keep it up all, im going to try to look for some bright sides in my sleep. Cya next one, you all rock
