UCL MD1: Sevilla FC vs Manchester City [22/23]

Lopetegui and Castro

More than just him needs to go!

Who else?

Please don’t start the Castro out thing. That’s just silly. His era has been the best era of Sevilla’s, hands down.

It’s hard to call for Castro’s head at this point, but someone has to answer for the piss-poor planning of this transfer-window and pre-season preparations. It was a total joke, and a bad one.

It could be the Castro - Monchi tandem, but at the moment I still believe in them both. I don’t believe in Lope though, in fact I haven’t since the end of 2020-21.

On the other hand - Del Nido was also a very successful President, reigning since 2002. He was part of the ‘golden age’ Sevilla, including the 2005-2007 period during which a lot of us fell in love with the club. Plus he led the club at a time where ‘big money’ was unfathomable and when our record signing was Negredo - so respect should be paid where due.

Hell yes.

I mean you can’t fool them for too long, can you. Raise prices 15-20%, then people paying 100 euros to see a CL game. You have to show up at one point no? Little bit wrong to expect that against City but hey.

Just seen pics on tv of del nido having to be held back to stop him getting to castro after tbe game.
He was up for a fight lol.

The fans were fantastic.
I was with my Man City mate at the game. He said “Bloody hell your fans are good”. Of course, after the third goal we all wanted to be somewhere else. But until then, they were great.

Quick takes: Foden was deadly. Rakitic was bad. I went to the bar.

No doubt Del Nido’s time was good at the club during the “glory years.” I remember being in the stadium in 2011-2012 during Marcelino’s term and the Biris shouting for Del Nido to go.
He’s a crook and shouldn’t be anywhere near this team anymore.

Enrico that’s a very interesting point about raising the prices. It just fuels the anger. Fans feel duped.

Lopetegui: “Me veo con fuerzas”

Was glad to see in the match today (and confirm in the interview attached) that Lope played some new guys today once we were down, with the recognition that the value in putting those guys to the test was way higher than the value of the pipe dream of overcoming a 2 goal deficit again a fully healthy Man City

Unfortunately neither Kasper not Adnan really showed up. Liked seeing them play, and both had at least a couple attractive touches, albeit counterbalanced with screw ups…
