He’s been the reason for almost every goal against this season, he’s not on the same page but has to get on the page soon. We are not squeezing up on attack and we’re leaving gaps like when Lewandowski scored.
So as we approach the second half, we have the nightmare of putting forwards on … lord help us.
Hats off to the team in the first half. They gave up the goal but didn’t melt down like we have seen recently. Carmona, what a player so far!
First 5 minutes some pretence that it was something. Game settled in to the expected.
0-1 is good. Now let’s completely change the tactics the last 10 minutes and play 2-2-6, sub 5 attackers at once. They won’t feel it coming, and we risk it for the biscuit. 0-1 or 0-2 doesn’t matter.
Only 1 goal conceded so far. I guess the plan is to tire this Man City team, but I feel they’ll be even more dangerous on the counter. Thankfully Grealish hasn’t been at his best since playing for Pep.
It was tough to watch but we playing a quality side. We have shown better fight and hung in the match. Let’s hope we can remain competitive in 2nd half as difficult as the task is. Then maybe if we still just a goal down we can try go for it with bringing the strikers on late.
It’s been very difficult but we done okay considering the circumstances. Still very uninspiring going forward with very little pattern.
Vamos Sevilla!
There were signs of change and improvement in the first 5 minutes (that’s all) so that’s a big positive…

It felt like Man City could score anytime they’d want. They are playing like it’s an exhibition or training match. Our players on the other hand are not giving 100% as they should and the negative play mentality is affecting their forward passing. They are prioritizing passing backwards rather than passing to the open teammates in the mid or beyond.
You’re both right but wow, I suppose this is where we are, in a bad place, without saying anyone is at fault, we accept a bad situation, it’s a human condition.
Still think the defending kinda worked. We made it difficult enough. But not enough to hold. Which would eventually in 9 out of 10 games happen anyway. Just like this one.
Just saying with other tactics it most likely would not go much better than 0-1.
The new standard is:
-
Don’t get relegated
-
Don’t concede more than 3 against pacier or better teams
-
Play well for at least 15 mins in a match
But as you said it’s normal. When there’s no hope for improvement, anything goes.
I feel the same. Giving us too much respect. Their fullbacks should be flooding our half and overwhelming us. This should be over already.
We’re embarrassing ourselves by playing without an out and out striker. We need a response in this half
I think if we played regular 4-3-3 like usual. 0-4 would have been the minimum by now. And the midfield would absolutely be gaping.
Jordan on as is Mir. Delaney and Rakitic off. I though Delaney was super important in that first half.
Absolutely. The only one at least semi-matching Man City players physically.
Talk about bad sub decisions. Jordan… oh well.
How does Jordan play every game, and others dont?
Good Bono!
San Bono!
