Thoughts on Sevilla's Title Chances

Whaddupp! That’s some good news to come home to, Barca losing in general always brings me a smile but at this stage, it’s good for everyone. Atletico, and Real I still prefer, and meanwhile us getting sneakily close in the shadows.

From weeks back, we just have that thought only if we keep stacking those 3 pointers, for us nothing changed. So Bilbao next up, vamooooos!!!

Granada is such a lovely city made even more lovely with tonight’s win. I don’t know how many times the announcers talked about the title race today without mentioning sevilla at all. I love being the underdogs and I hope like hell we can pull this off.

Monchi tattoos for all members if we win!

I love it how Barca and RM fans are not even counting us for the title race in their forum comments… it’s hilarious. We may surely count ourselves out if we don’t beat Bilbao on Monday… but not to consider us is still a blind arrogance in action.

I hope we cause a huge disturbance!

I’m so glad they proved me completely wrong. You right I was fearing the usual Sevilla collapse. Instead though we did the opposite and on an incredible streak of form haha. I’m glad I know nothing :joy::rofl:

Exactly to be just 1 point behind and they still ignore us. I hope it just fuels our fire more. There is no pressure on us and let’s just enjoy the moment. I like us under the radar though. It’s working out well for us. Let them keep going on about the big 3 or the big 3 fans keep ignoring us. Let’s just go about our business efficiently.

Gotta give it to Jim here. We were all giving up on the season but he still had faith in the boys to get it done.

Yeah I imagine it hasn´t gotten better. I´ve seen some, been on dutch spanish forums, and I wish I could ignore and undone all that i´ve seen. It tilts me the wrong way. by a lot. If you want a headache, and a day ruined for free, just by reading how some people actually think, is mind boggling. I gladly pass.

The thing I don’t like about Barcelona and Madrid fans is that they throw their players under the bus to quickly.

For example Lenglet had a really good season last year but he hasn’t done well this season and Barça fans have made him the scapegoat.

And Madrid fans always harassing their players

It’s normal to criticize players but it should only be done in a charitable way

You are spot on. The same how they attack Koeman too. They hated him at start. Then started to love him when they went on a winning streak and won copa. Real Madrid are the same. They both very fickle fans and demand that they win every game or it’s a crisis.

They either scapegoat a certain player or manager to blame it on. They never take full responsibility as a club. As we know if the fans were in the ground the white handkerchiefs would have been waived haha.

Exactly. I used to be a Barça fan but that behavior really turned me off

Same here. When I was younger and watching la liga I didn’t mind Barca as much. I was rooting for Sevilla of course but I preferred Barca to Real Madrid back then. Barca used to have more morals, ran better and didn’t just buy their way to titles. Well they still got all the tv money, big players but they weren’t as bad as Real Madrid. They brought great talents through like Messi. Their fans weren’t as bad either.

However, now they more like Real Madrid every day. Just as bad if not worse at times. That’s the reason they in debt, as they run poor, high wages for players and less morals. Plus their fans are much more toxic than they used to be.

It’s hard to tell who I dislike more between Barca and real now. It’s probably a tie to be honest haha.

The way things are going Sevilla might not even need to win out to win la Liga but 15 points and I’d put the odds at 90% plus that we get the crown. The only important thing is to stay focused on the next game and getting the 3 points.

I wouldn’t be that confident haha. The title is still not in our hands yet. We still need slip ups from our rivals. I think if we win the last 5 now though we will win the title. Still that’s still gonna take a lot. I’m just delighted we in the fight and hopefully we can take the title race right down to the last couple of matches.

Our chances though of being higher than 4th have gone up massively. I think the time to really start believing is if we can beat Bilbao and then win at Real Madrid. I think if we managed that we would have the momentum to do it. Of course though we don’t know how we will cope if say we get to the top or 2nd. How will we handle the pressure? Coming up on the rails is a bit easier in terms of less pressure but will see how things go. The Real Madrid match is the crunch tie though but it won’t be as big if we blow it against Bilbao.

There’s a very small possibility that Sevilla is playing Monday night for 1st place. That probably will not happen but it just demonstrates how close we are. Atleti is spiraling down, Real are limping to the end. Barca may still be the biggest hurdle. I’d put the odds of a Sevilla title today at 15-20% and that’s brilliant given history. Another great weekend and that number could rise drastically.

A great assist from Pique for the 2nd goal I thought.
