I’ll make on for wingers, central midfielders and strikers soon. I have to manually enter every player in forms, so it requires a few minutes
oh that sounds very annoying. thank you for your service!
The link for central midfielders: Center midfielders
The link for the wingers: Wingers
Second to last with the strikers: Strikers
And for the managers: Managers
Thanks for your effort in setting this up @Niller . I think picking the midfielders was the toughest.
Thank you @Niller
I thought my 5 and 4 points were pretty straightforward with Raki and Banega. My 3, 2 and 1 point were a little bit more tricky since I wanted to also get some defensive minded midfielders in there.
Man, that was so much tougher than I expected. When you really put thought into it. I screwed up on the defenders, went strictly with CBs, and forgot about the outside backs. Anyway, curious how this lines up and whether any of the old heads got a nod. It also made me realize that I should study more of the club’s history. Maybe we can do a series this year highlighting some of the greats from the past.
and what about general manager??
this was really tough. and fun!
Yeah, really fun. Thanks a ton, Niller! I’ll try to work on something to improve the poll here in Discourse soon.
So much fun and so much tough.. I m so curious about the result!!
I’m also curious in how folks decided. What was your criteria for the choices?
Vibes.
With a pinch of “do I remember any particularly historic moments”.
I think I was going individual skill and which period they were in the club. For example I think I put Odysseas with 3 points under Palop and Bono mostly because Palop and Bono were here in a more successful part of our history.
I didnt really give a damn about the balance of the overall team which I think might actually be a flaw with this kind of survey. For example both Ivan and Banega as my top two midfielders, but I doubt they would work very well together in a 4-4-2. Also my defenders I didnt really care which position they would prefer, so I might have ended up with no fullbacks.
So far 8-10 different users have voted depending on the category. A quick status on the goalkeeper-votes:
11 different goalkeepers have been named, but Bono and Palop are so far leaving the others in the dust. 47 points for Bono and 41 points for Palop. Odysseas is the next on 3rd place with 20 points, Beto with 15 and Sergio Rico with 10. The remaining points are distributed between Javi Varas, Vaclik, Antonio Notario, David Soria, Diego Lopez and Nyland.
8 different users have voted on the defenders and the points are way more distributed on different players than the goalkeepers (naturally, maybe).
Dani Alves and Koundé so far in the lead with 17 points each. Antonio Puerta, Coke and Javi Navarro share the next spots with 11 points each, just edging out Diego Carlos with 10 points.
Next in line we have Acuna, Pareja, Sergio Ramos and Escudé with 8 and 7 points each. A little further behind we have the likes of Carrico, Fazio, Badé and Vidal.
A deadlock so far, so we need more votes to determine the top 4!
A quick status on the center midfielders. Kinda like the goalkeepers there are two names here that are making quite a gap to the next ones. 13 different midfielders have received a vote, but Banega (39) and Rakitic (37) are quite clearly in the lead. The next on the list is Fernando with 13 points. Krychowiak and Renato with 9 points each, Christian Poulsen, Mbia and Iborra with 7 and 6 points. And then names like Maresca, Sow, Mudo, Marti and Nzonzi with 3, 2 and 1 points.
A few surprises here in my opinion. Not really that Banega and Rakitic are in the lead, but has Fernando really been our third best midfielder? Names like Renato and Iborra I would think would have edged him out, but the nostalgia might play a part here.
And a status on the wingers where we have a single player who have received 5 points from every voter so far: Jesus Navas (maybe not surprisingly). That leaves him with 45 points at the moment. Next in line is Reyes with 30 points and then we have Sarabia at third with 18 points quickly followed by Vitolo (15) and Ocampos (12). From there we have Capel, Bryan Gil, Lukebakio, Perotti, Vargas and Konoplyanka with some 4, 3, 2 and 1 points.
And then I suspect we might have been trolled. Someone gave Quincy Promes 1 point. Anyone care to come clean? ![]()
