The Monchi's Men Podcast

Totally worth it. As for the offer from Roberto Ales to Monchi. Before becoming sporting director, the offer was for Monchi to be delegado de campo (field manager?) after spending a couple of years on the job, he got the sporting director role teaming up with Joaquin Caparros and that was when we got promoted to 1st division to then qualified for UEFA. We couldn’t be happier for Roberto Ales for having trusted this guy.

I must admit I didn’t really know much about this, I became a Sevilla fan around 2006, before that they were the pompous yoyo club with the boring White kit.:rofl::rofl:

This was a really good read, and I’ve learnt a little more about our clubs history today.

yoyo club?? I am afraid you are talking about a different club… wearing a green and white kit

lol

I’m talking about Sevilla in the late 90s, early 2000s when they kept getting relegated and promoted.

Season Tier Division Place Copa del Rey
1991–92 1 12th Quarterfinals
1992–93 1 7th Round of 16
1993–94 1 6th Quarterfinals
1994–95 1 5th 4th Round
1995–96 1 12th Quarterfinals
1996–97 1 20th 3rd Round
1997–98 2 7th 1st Round
1998–99 2 4th 4th Round
1999–00 1 20th 1st Round
2000–01 2 1st Round of 64
2001–02 1 8th Round of 64
2002–03 1 10th Quarterfinals
2003–04 1 6th Semifinals
2004–05 1 6th Quarterfinals
2005–06 1 5th Round of 16
2006–07 1 3rd Champions
2007–08 1 5th Round of 16
2008–09 1 3rd Semifinals
2009–10 1 4th Champions
2010–11 1 5th Semifinals

As you can see, SFC got relegated only 3 times. I am sorry but that didn’t make us a yoyo team during the 90s, early 2000s.

Certainly that period in 1996/97 - 2001/02 here in England would make the club appear like a yoyo club.

Not really sure why you are contesting how I felt as a teenager over 20 years ago. I already said I became a Sevilla fan in 2006.:man_shrugging:t2:

Haha - I mean there is only one yo yo club in Sevilla. And they are getting their ass beat in Bilbao right now.

Things going well for Pellegrini it would seem. Bilbao picking up some momentum now though.

Not contesting anything mate. Just presenting the facts. Anyway, I’m glad you are a sevilla fan.

Cheers!

Best bet is probably next weekend as I am actually off work for once.

Sevilla host Real Madrid, and my team have our first game back after a month, against arguably the hardest team we will play. We play once a week together, the team we have Selhurst FC, train every week, and play together both Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
