The Battle in the Boardroom

It’s damaging and we could do without the infighting right now, we Sevillistas want an end to this.

How long will it take for Castro’s appeal regarding del nido voting take? Basically it’s all on that. If that appeal fails then del nido has an open goal to victory.

Del nido and castro are like a pair of kids fighting/squabbling over a cookie jar! Lol

Anyone know some of the political subtext, if any, of this battle between Castro and Del Nido. I recently read up on Del Nido’s family and realized that he’s from a prominent far-right family and was wondering whether there’s any correlation between the board room conflict and political conflicts in Sevilla or in Spain more broadly. Couldn’t find any reliable Intel on whether perhaps Castro represents a different political lens.

Anyhow, don’t want to read politics into places where it doesn’t belong, but based on the politics I’ve seen from clubs like Barca and Espanyol, I can’t imagine the Board room is politics-free.

I don’t really know if I can say I have a reason to prefer either potential/current/past president, I just want continuity.

Oh and FUERA LOPETEGUI.

So this instability on the pitch has got to affect the power struggles in the boardroom

I think the club is at tipping point. Last seasons europa campaign saved Castro and his board. However, say we finish bottom of the champions league group and finish close to relegation or bottom half that could be the end of them.

I would say technicalities saved Castro and the board.

Del Nido Carrasco: “Mi padre tiene un plan trazado para vender el club con los americanos”

Can’t claim to really have enough knowledge of the boardroom to have an opinion, but going with the proven criminal always seems like the wrong move.

Viva el Sevilla.

Fuera los corruptos.

PS - A Jaguar or Maserati nearly flattened Castro right before this picture. I suppose that might have simplified the debate in the boardroom, but I felt the need to save him nonetheless. Tried to make a joke about it, which included the line “Castro dimisión seems like the least of your worries.”. He didn’t laugh. But laughter doesn’t seem like it’s part of his repertoire. On the other hand, when you grew up under Franco :military_helmet:, humor is like a cactus :cactus:. Must be handled with care.

Yes, I know lots who’ve pledged their share votes and some who actually sold shares to him. He gets the club back with voting rights.

Looks like del nido is going to get what he wants in the end. Let’s see!

To be fair the guys a crook but I feel he’s got more presence/leadership as president than Castro. He might have more ambition and his old philosophy of selling players at right time for good price and scouting the next young gems worked well overall.

Hes definitely more of a villain and fiery compared to Castro. If nothing else it will be more entertaining under him and hopefully he can turn us around. We lost our identity as a club and need something. Not sure if he’s the right man again due to his personal history but I’d take a change over the current situation.

Rumors are that he’s going to sell to the Americans.

Nothing personal but imo that would be… no bueno…

Oh I can’t imagine anyone wants that to happen except for the cheat and criminal.

Yeah according to his son, he wants to sell shares to the Americans and run the club with them.

He wants to kick out the rest of the board, then take over with the Americans.

This is going to be explosive and cause a lot of tension if it comes off. We will see.

The same American friends of Nido who took over Everton and look where that got them.

Some light reading regarding 777

“777 Partners LLC have not produced audited accounts for more than two years. The investment deck republished by Liz Hoffman above, written in 2021, projected earnings in excess of $120 million for 2023 – yet current projections suggest significant losses of hundreds of millions of dollars”

A lot of shady stuff around that company.

The question is this any different to last shareholders meeting. As even if he has the majority of the shares, can Castro and Co not just block him again?

As currently he still can’t vote due to the appeal process still ongoing and not concluded. Either that or has del nido found another way around that issue?

Don’t think so. All up to the courts.
