First of all, condolences to the family and friends of the thread OP, Tim. May he rest in peace.

I took this photo when I was in Belfast earlier this year. It may well be the only mural in Britain or Ireland dedicated to a Sevilla manager. Patrick O’Connell managed Sevilla from 1942 to 1945, quite successfully, as he’s the only Sevilla manager to achieve two top 3 finishes, laying the groundwork of the only Sevilla team to win La Liga. His legacy is probably not as celebrated as it normally would as he also managed the “other Sevilla club” and led them to their only league title. (I think he’s the only person to manage both.)

Sadly, but predictably, the mural makers virtually ignore his time in Seville to focus on his less successful time at FC Barce. The club badge of “rhymes with lettuce” is just about visible and I don’t see the Sevilla badge at all.
