Another right-footed CB. The only lefties are Rekik and Marcao. Assuming Rekik is gone in 2023-2024, Marcao would be the loan lefty.

Well done, Jim. I really LOVE this post. Just too many good things to say about.
- This thing I like most is that you’re super realistic that we can’t buy a new player at every position, something I see on Sevillista social media often
- All the right sales (exception: I would keep Fernando, try and find a new team for Rakitic, recognizing that neither is likely to make us any real cash)
- Recognizing that even some guys we don’t love like Rekik or Montiel are going to be around playing a role whether we like them or not
Couple things I’d be curious about, but don’t have the time to dig up myself:
- Who is out of contract this summer
- Who is desperately needing contract renewal (over performing their salary)
- Which players are likely underperforming and could be in need of a shuffle?
- Who comes back this summer and for how many more years of contract?

I love Fernando but with Gudelj, Gueye and hopefully Ortiz I’d hope we could invest his probably sizable wages elsewhere. Raki seems to have woken up a bit lately too.

Here are some possibilities for goalkeeper, (I think)
David Soria - Free
Edgar Badía (assuming Elche go down) could be available on loan (maybe) or cheap
Conan Ledesma (if Cadiz go down)
Some slightly more unrealistic ones
Matvey Safonov - free (most valuable goalkeeper available for free according to transfermarkt)
David de Gea - unrealistic but probably the best option available (high wages though)
