Rekik to Saudi? Did not see that coming. I thought they were going for players with bigger names, but maybe they just saw he played at Manchester City and thought he might be a superstar.

Surprising and not at the same time. Hope it cascades into more moves soon. Not sure who and what we have lined up for replacements. But I expect it to be similar to how Rekik came from Hertha, or Augustinsson came from Bremen, 2-3m. short term contract left. I donāt want to call it cheap mediocrity, but it is what it comes down to. Hope we find something good and with a bit more promise. Even though Rekik did well in roles more than we should have asked for.
Atletico got Galan for about 4-5m.

Marcao cannot be counted upon and Gudelj is a stop-gap at most. Sevilla most likely have a backup in store.
Still need a few more sales to get things moving, Jordan, Papu, Oliver, Suso if the price is right. Who else?

Marcos Leonardo, 20 year, Brazilian striker, is named as well. Always the question how serious, but it is the type of profile I would look forward to add to the squad.
Rumoured Adria Pedrosa has been struggling to keep up so far, āheavy legsā and having to overcome the lack of intensity of last year. Understandable, but hope in a couple weeks he is at east play ready, even only for a half.

Unless we take a bit of a gamble on a player making the step up, I think for any competent striker with enough quality for a CL team will start at 20m minimum. We already missed out on Joselu for 3 straight summers. Moussa Dembele is still available as a free agent, but i think he was more of an interest to Monchi. Even looking at the strikers with expiring contracts, there isnāt much to choose from there. Unless this Dallinga kid will be valued at less than that, i say we spend those euros on a centre forward we can trust up front.
Maybe the Harry Kane & Lukaku deals will make things move quicker, as the latter is also linked with Juventus. Iām just unsure which team is seriously going for En-Nesyri. Does David Moyes still want him for West Ham? Are Inter & Juve really that interested in him? Iām totally fine with YEN staying if Rafa is gone, so we can hopefully have an alternate profile that is better at linking up the play.

Papa Gueye received a four month ban from football from the CAS. Iām not sure if we had plans to sign him permanently, but thatās got to be scrapped as of now given the news.

I think there was a verbal agreement in case weād be interested to sign him, but it is almost impossible now with the ban. Itās a shame and I feel sad for Gueye, but thatās how it is sometimes.

Apparently he had already signed an agreement with Watford before moving on. Basically breach of contract. Four month ban and Ā£2.3m fine paid directly to Watford.

Hope Pape has fired his agent since signing for Marseille. My reading of the case is that his agent assured him that he could get out of the Watford agreement scot free. Iād be suing my agent.
