So much for my predictions on the Monchi’s Men podcast … I predicted Ocampos to come back as our leading goalscorer this season. Somebody else predicted Tecatito, someone else YEN, so our collective prediction ability is going down hill by the hour.

Nah man… he’s just not the footballer that we need at this point. Hopefully he’ll prove me wrong, but he’s similar to Kosovo’s Edon Zhegrova… I don’t like that type of personality, especially in football.
Plus he hasn’t participated in a pre-season with a professional club… so there’s large fitness doubts. He’ll add to the UNFIT FC team with Marcao and Isco.
Just think about this - we have the following players and very close rumors that haven’t done or at least not properly done pre-season with a club and are not match fit:
Marcao, Isco, Januzaj, RDT (potential player), Dolberg (in case RDT fails).
Just wow…
Instead of making the right thing and getting rid of the coach - the management is focused on band-aid solutions that don’t contribute anything to solve the real issue.
This will make things much worse in the near future even if Lope is finally sacked - the new coach will have to deal with a ton of unfit players with questionable qualities.
Ocampos, even though not in form, is at least fully fit and 10 times better than Januzaj.
YEN even though not in form, is at least fully fit and 10 times better than RDT & Dolberg together!

In Monchi we trust… let’s see how that fares this season. The last one was a clear signal that blind trust is never good.

that shot radar thing is interesting though. poor defender, positive attacker for everything but goals, and very good with general possession. not saying that’s the profile we needed, just hadnt seen that type of figure before.

Didn’t even realise this was an official thing. Sounds very underwhelming and rushed and panicked to me and not a signing that inspires (he was sitting on Sociedad’s bench and how fit is he?), but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. A lot more needed though if this is a replacement for both Ocampos and Tecatito.
