Summer 2022 Transfers Conversation

I think with Isco being signed there’s enough with Fernando, Rakitic, Jordan and Delaney. Not counting Torres as looks like he may be going!

It’s not ideal and yes one more midfielder is probably needed but a striker is more of a priority.

It’s enough in terms of filling up space… but not in terms of quality. We need to sell/replace instead of just filling the missing spots, because those filled spots (e.g. Jordan) are not worthy of a spot at all, so -1 player anyway.

Agree that we need a change from Jordan and Rakitic and Fernando can’t do everything and Delaney is ok but that’s about it.

So yeah a fairly average midfield except from Isco. We are where we are though and a striker who can get us 20 goals a season is more of a priority. If we go off what Tim says Monchi has plans for both positions.

Let’s see what happens!

I think we need to set Jordan free, he’s a great player but not under Lopetegui. Rakitic is way too valuable to dispense with now, we need that consistency, cool head and experience.

Can he though?

@DanSFC got to speak with the new guy! Seems like a good head on his shoulders.

He can, easily. Make him number 1 and feed him well, 3 good chances a game. and he’ll score you 30 even.

The problem is we create about 3 chances on average.

I like the plan to feature Rafa Mir.

A fast mid is the missing piece. Dani Olmo? Ndombele? Brahim Diaz? Zivkovic? Davitashvili? Augustin Almendra? Aouar?

That’s my eFootball scouting report :joy:

RDT would be awesome! Espanyol got Joselu so they might not need RDT anymore.

We appear to be the back up option. Sadly man United are in pole position as offering more money and higher wages. If something goes wrong though we could still get him.

Buy back option for Bayern is €55 mil

55m is good enough. Let’s hope that in 2-3 years or less he will reach that or even a higher market value - it could mean we’ll be doing well too.

Yeah, no one can tell me that this is a one sided deal. I think Bayern is just splitting the difference with us a bit, essentially saying “if this guy becomes world class, you take 35m and we take another 10-20m.”. It’s not likely that he’d magically end up with a 100m market value, so the reality is that the 55m clause is a decent way to split the potential upside.

Anyone notice the humor that we replaced Brazilian and a French center back with…a Brazilian and a French center back. Hopefully these guys can become friendly and work well together. Any sense whether they have a shared language? I assume Galatasaray plays mostly in English? So maybe these guys with speak mostly in English on the pitch? Obviously not fully necessary, but having those two guys unable to communicate off the pitch is probably just as important as not being able to speak on the pitch. Thankfully, Yassine speaks French, obviously, as do a few other guys in the locker room, but surely Marcão doesn’t speak French. Anyhow, surely the reboot of French-Brazil CBs won’t be as good as the original, but hopefully it’ll be a decent sequel, at a minimum

Looks like we have another need to fill. Reports are that Tecatito hurt himself badly at practice today and needed an ambulance.

Why did I come across some people saying things along the lines of ‘With Nianzou the CB problem is solved’ or ‘we only have a problem in [other area] now’.

We only have Rekik, Nianzou and an injured Marcao… Right? Am I missing something? Or do you guys count Gudelj as the 4th solid centerback or something?

I heard something on the radio, it’s puzzling because they normally do gym work and a bit of jogging for the morning session, then play a mini game in the afternoon.

We’re jinxed

Marcao isn’t injured anymore I don’t think, just not game fit. I think he will be on the list, but they will publish it later today.

Gudelj is basically Lope’s son in law so I don’t think we will sell him in the end.Marcao, Nianzou, Rekik and Gudelj will be the 4 centre backs. With Carmona, Kike Salas or even our defensive mids as final options.

Nianzou might be getting in earlier as expected. From the preseason in Germany he will be super fit, as all german players and the physical demand there.

It’s the club’s standard, not our wish obviously, but can’t do much other than hope for the best :stuck_out_tongue:
