I think we’ll end up with €65m plus a mountain of extras. Agree with @ChrisLail that @Edinho rocks, very balanced and insightful opinions.
Sevilla have disappointed me so far this transfer market but I don’t take it personal because it usually goes in our favour and already there are signs that Lamela might be a revalation and we appear to have other solid signings. Just disappointed over Corona and Koundé and that we haven’t stamped authority on the market and it’s all so last minute.
Without a doubt, I’m sure Monchi will have a replacement for Koundé.
I’m honestly not quite optimistic on Kounde’s potential replacement/s. It’s too late and there’s not much to make with what’s available in the market. Botman, Kabak…? Only Boateng makes sense but still he alone wouldn’t cut it. Oh my…
maybe a far guess, but I feel like the overgrowing pressence and influence of their agents plays a big role in it. They are parasiting millions of off player transfers. The amount of percentages they are demanding from the clubs are insane. There’s agents who make 5-10m on 1 move. Their part involved in the deal involved is what matters, they have some connections with their people at a specific clubs and they put the players right off there.
I was thinking more Drago, but the the market is just scraps so it will be a tough challenge. Never underestimate the genius of Monchi, nobody else comes close.
I think the ideal solution at this point is: keep Kounde, sign or loan in a new CB, sign Tecacito (over Sarabia because of pace, we need pace not technical skills this time) and that’s it.
Absolute failure scenarios: sell Kounde for 50 million; sell Kounde for 70-75 million and replace him with Botman, not signing/loaning in another CB to complement the replacement; keeping Kounde without another CB signed or loaned in (that CB has to be better than Rekik obviously); not signing Tecacito or at least Sarabia.
Out of all our midfielders it’s either Oscar or Torres who is willing to show up in the box and look for combinations with the attackers. Papu can do this too, but then you need an actual left winger.
Rakitic and Jordan are too similar, in their way of playing, they pass and stay. Inform Jordan was a treat and dynamic. but right now not so much and they hardly compliment eachother. It’s a shame when we want to attack and there are 5 players behind the ball or staying deep. Is that insecurity? Or incapability.
On the midfield Fernando is a must, then one of either Rakitic or Jordan, not both. And one to bridge the gap more with the attack. Oliver or Oscar or Papu.
A left winger with treat is still needed to broaden their defense. So our attacking mid gets room and options to play with.
I can’t say it’s from the inside and it’s really a nothing burger. Tell y’all mid week.
Regarding the transfer window, i wish they’d make their mind up, I heard midnight on the 31st just yesterday on the radio, I just asked Alexa and she said 31st August based on Wikipedia.
It says players without a club can transfer at any time, so that probably means we can move our unregistered players outside of the transfer window (that’s how I read it).
The wiki article sounds fairly authoritive, who else can we ask?
Edit
Most Spanish sites say midnight 31st August
