Summer 2021 Sevilla Transfer Rumours etc

Fabrizio Romano updated we are still heavily in talks with Chelsea. So the deal might be coming to an end. We gave Chelsea the 48 hour deadline earlier.

Now they are progressing in their sales, seemingly selling the remaining players of which some they wanted to involve in the deal. Zouma to West Ham, about 30m. Zappacosta to Atalanta about 10m. And Ugbo to Genk 7.5m) plus they had the 40m for Tammy Abraham already. No excuses and no flee market players in the deal.

So as Jim said before, they better pay up soon. So we can see what we do with atleast those 80m.

I can’t express the excitement I have. Mr. Monchi does what he does the best again. He improved on the problem we had previous season, aka the lack of squad depth. Transfers so far were spot on. If we can get Sarabia back that would be the icing on the cake.

The way I see, the team will play more persistently out of the wings since the wings and wing backs seem to be our best strength now. So having 3 forwards with good heading ability will be fruitful.

I think we have set ourselves a squad that can finally match Barca’s. And with Messi gone we can hopefully get above them in table.

There’s been a lot of news recently about KoundĂ© leaving to Chelsea, so I have a few questions, if he were to go.

A. How much would he realistically cost? How much will Chelsea offer, and how much would it take to agree a deal?

B. Who is the replacement? We already need a CB, and if KoundĂ© were to leave, we’d need two. Does monchi have anyone in mind for that position?

Chelsea have been pretty diligent in the transfer market. Like they did w Lukaku, they’ll prolly put in the right offer for us to accept, so it doesn’t go back & forth again. Hopefully in the €70M+ region.

I think the CB replacements depend on Kounde leaving, with a different profile whether he stays or goes. I won’t be surprised if it’s a name out of left field again, à la Diego Carlos.

Apparently we’re in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund for Thomas Delaney.

Thoughts?

I’m happy with this. I think he will provide us with much more depth in the midfield. He plays in between fernando and Jordan so he’s very versatile. He was very impressive for Dortmund and a few clubs have wanted him.

Zouma deal is nearly finalized. Wouldn’t be surprised if we we see an offer for Kounde by tomorrow. I’ve seen 75m euros rumored but let’s wait and see.

Yeah I think it will happen soon too. I think we waiting for the Kounde funds before we get the remaining players we linked with.

It has to come quickly. Monchi isn’t going to have a Sergio Ramos situation again.

The club refuses the full amount then the player can sometimes, somehow pay the release clause personally and free himself. Is that how it works? (thinking Vitolo and Sergio Ramos)

Yeah, this is correct. Technically it’s not the buying club that is paying the release clause. It’s the player. It just gets glossed over most times because the buying club will cover the cost as part of the contract negotiation.

Kounde could pay the clause in his contract at any time and become a free agent. If that clause is met, it doesn’t really matter where it came from. The only way Sevilla could decline the sale would be if Chelsea + Kounde weren’t willing to front the clause in full.

Delaney does indeed appear to be confirmed apart from the formalities, now I have to investigate his Irish surname.

And what pops up, first.

Delaney is an Irish surname derived from the Gaelic Ó Dubhshláine, Dubh meaning black and Sláine for the River Sláine (Slaney). DeLaney is also of Norman origin. There is a branch of Dulaneys in the United States who trace back to a Thomas Delany.

That would cause a delay-ny

Similar thing with Martin Braithwaite who is Danish, all the Thwaites originate from Yorkshire. I had a friend called Martin Braithwaite so I looked up the origins of the footballer and it appears that he has origins in British Guiana.

Thwaite means meadow, and brai means wide, so his name is widemeadow.
You might remember Pete Postlethwaite (jurassic park 2)
