Summer 2020 Sevilla FC Transfer Rumours

He married a lovely looking girl about two years ago, his accomplishments football related I’m not very sure Jim.

He has talent all right, but doesn’t seem to fit the modern game. He was great operating freely in Dortmund before going to Bayern and getting swamped by Pep’s tactics. Went back to Dortmund to kickstart his career but like other returnees such as Kagawa and Sahin were shadows of their former selves.

He’s on a free so the financial outlay is minimal but I just see him becoming the next Nasri or even Ganso if he can’t get it together. His wage demands would also be large, kinda hard for me.

David Silva is leaving on a free too but I think he’s headed back to Valencia, can’t see him wearing another team’s shirt. Same goes for Mata, the two in a midfield could be chaos for their opponents. I also found out Borja Baston has been released as well, he hasn’t done much since a 18 goal haul for Eibar around 4-5 years ago so best to keep our hands off him.

Forever been linked to Maxime Lopez from Marseille. Reports in France have us in on an €8M deal. If he can play similar to another French-Algerian who wore the shirt, Nasri, i’d be more than pleased.

Sevilla have (been forcibly) activated Suso’s transfer clause, -20M to kick off the transfer window, he’s just 26 so if he finds his pre-lockdown form I’ll accept it.

Goal.com’s La Liga team of the season had a surprise pick at left back - Pervis Estupinan, a 21 year old Ecuadorian who plays for Osasuna on loan from Watford, he has had 5 assists and reclaimed possession more times than any other defender (275) and is second in duels won (225), kind of the under-the-radar signing Monchi looks for, right? Barca and At. Madrid are said to be interested but with Firpo and Lodi on their books Sevilla might stand a chance.

With other leagues ending their seasons the big clubs are putting their feelers out for potential targets. I keep thinking that Sevilla can only keep one of Ocampos or Carlos, both have release clauses of over 70m so their sale could fund 2-3 decent players, there’s just too many places that need reinforcements. So if the club were forced to let one go, who would you guys keep? My vote is for Carlos, his presence is just too immense and would be very hard to replace from the market.

  • Keep Diego Carlos
  • Keep Lucas Ocampos

I would also prefer to keep Diego Carlos, but with Liverpool, City and Bayern being after him, I think it will be close to impossible to hold onto him. That brings me to the point that I don´t mind selling Ocampos that much although I am also okay holding on to him too. I think Diego Carlos is more valuable price wise as well, he will bring in more money then Ocampos, I don´t feel like Ocampos should go for a lot more then 35-40 m. Where Diego Carlos I think should go around 55-60m.

I can´t help but hope still we can go for Cavani. I keep thinking Monchi can talk him into our shirt? and unless he signed somewhere else and he´s still available I won´t stop acting like a school girl.

Agreed. If anyone can, it’s Monchi right? I still have my hopes we can get him.

How about this young prospect in your neck of the woods, Myron Boadu? 19yo Dutch CF currently playing for AZ. Made his NT debut last year, and have been hearing good things about him. 20g & 13a all comps. And yes, i know guys, it’s only the Eredivisie. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I haven´t followed my home countries league that much since I live in Spain. Him being a pure centre forward who still needs to develop (19) and us having Carlos Fernandez who is some years ahead (24). Is maybe a bit of an obstacle. It´s true about the dutch league, It´s a great ground for talent to develop play lots of games, good coaches and some great teams but towards the lower table the level drops pretty big and to be funcional player there you don´t need anything exceptiional, from where the top talents go to Ajax, then PSV and Feyenoord, AZ come after that. But the stats of players can be very innacurate, there was an overweight belgium striker won the pichichi for a midtier team, says it all.

Last year Monchi was tracking Boadu as well as Stengs, who honestly are both at the the top of the dutch talents in their age group. For a young dude the transition to La Liga I can see being a bit tough. So it will take a year or two to get them where they need to be but those players and there agents, will be driven crazy by money, but also they need to play as much games as possible, so 2 years for them seem way to long because they will need to transition slowly and can´t play 40 games for us. and they go Ajax or PSV, where they can do that, and directly to the European Top teams after that. I feel our position is a tough one for some of those players at a young point in their carreers, although if I was them, I would have signed blindly for Sevilla  But its good that Monchi expresses interest, so the players know they are on his Radar and in a later stadium we can reapproach and they will have a good feeling about us.

I wouldn’t get another Dutch player. First Promes and now Luuk. It just won’t work out.

Now we are at CL level we shouldn’t experiment around with so many transfers and hope it will turn out good. We must pinpoint world class players with some kind of reputation.

  1. Sell or loan out both Luuk and YEN, get one decent forward. It will cost money but the points he will get us in CL will more than compensate the fee. We no longer can afford draughts by our forwards. They must finish off any chances that come rarely in this level.
  2. We need a ball winner type player in the midfield. Someone who fights to get the ball, someone who wins midfield duels easily. Example; De Rossi, Vidal,
Fernando and Gudelj are too soft imo. They back up too often and rarely go for any tackle.

Fernando excels at reading the game and gets his interceptions thru anticipation. We can get that hard tackling midfielder in a box-to-box role, which we have Jordán for. But we need another of his kind, as he’s the only one we have.

And i back you on that first point. Get a legit CF that we can get behind. I trust Monchi’s judgement, but i want this signing to be a bit of a no-brainer. Which is why i elected Milik or maybe, perhaps, hopefully… Cavani.

Erick Pulgar might be the right fit. Besides he´s chilean, I´m gonna call him Tall Gary Medel. Good contribution goal assist wise for a relatively defensive centre mid.

I know it won’t happen, also most of you wouldn’t agree. But I’ve been thinking about this. If Lop likes to play a big centre forward. I’d like to see Giroud signed. He’s a very intelligent footballer and if you give him half a chance infront of goal head or feet. He will score. Yes lacks pace. But recently at Chelsea he’s been quality also linking up with the quick wider forwards. I would have alot more faith in someone like him infront of goal than any of our current strikers.

He wouldn’t be my first choice. But if that’s the style of striker they are after. Then would he up there in terms of that kind of striker.

You’re absolutely right @BrettR. Giroud has changed my opinion of him over the years. He gets slack for not scoring at the World Cup, but his holdup play made the team work, and helped get the best out of Griezmann. He’s doing the same for Chelsea now and it’s paying dividends.

Not sure how many there are of his ilk out there. His technical ability is also understated.

I was about to ask if Bono was available should the club go for him. He can give spirited performances if everything falls into place but only as a stop-gap and not a no.1

I too would give Pozo, Gil and Fernandez a role in the squad, that along with Suso, Munir, En-Nesyri and supposedly Machis gives the club around 5-6 who can play on the wing. Ocamps can be sold to generate funds.

I would want
Parejo
Coquelin
Kondogbia
Campana or Correra
LB
CB
RB (Sarr or Odriozola)

The Valencia trio are just too big a chance to pass up. They will make the difference.

On Gomez, he’s not perfect but is willing to play backup to the squad and hasn’t bitched about it yet so he can stay unless the club finds a better alternative (Gnagnon?)

Shit, haven’t been following the Dutch league that closely these few years so his name escapes me, who was he? The Dutch league does elevate some players beyond their expected stats, Luuk scored 28 and assisted 8 in the his last season in PSV and convinced Monchi he had finally found his groove. His former partner in crime Lozano scored 17 goals and has given 4 goals for Napoli this season and is slagged for being wasteful.

Francis Coquelin is your man, he will stop at nothing to get the ball, Kondogbia can do the box-to-box work. Fernando has a different play-style but his reading and interceptions is a reason why the defense has been better this season instead of putting Banega and Mudo together and hoping for the best.

Pulgar is another midfielder I really like, he has added attacking contributions to his play in Fior and since they are going nowhere he may be open to a move.

Reports are saying two Premier League clubs have made opening bids for Carlos, I’m guessing it’s Man City and Liverpool. The club has stood firm so far - either pay the release clause or get lost. Encouraging signs and hopefully the club maintains this stance.

His name was Björn Vleminckx. It’s been a while but it still holes truth.

I was a big Kondogbia fan when he first came. But I still think he has his stupid moments and loses focus easily. So maybe better to pass on a familiar face and go for a New One.

But I hard agree, if we don’t pick up any of the for sale Player s from Valencia on a good deal, we missed out for sure.

I can’t get too enthused by the transfer rumours because Monchi will come along with some player who is not on the radar and boom! Instant Dejavu. We’ve all seen it before!

I remember Kanoute’s first game, a 5-0 victory over Celta in pre-season and leaving the stadium you could hear people say ‘El negro tiene buena pinta’ and crikey they were right, he became a legend. In comparison Alves and Fabiano were already at the club but took much more time to impact, but they were equally great in the end.

But here’s the point, I was there for the Tottenham uefa game and speaking to their fans in a bar, they were saying Kanoute was crap, that’s why Tottenham let him go, and I replied ‘but he’s a different player with Sevilla’. They asked how and I said ‘watch the game’. He showed them in the return match for sure, putting Spurs out of uefa.

So we develop some players while others have instant success, but patience is increasingly costly in football. Perhaps we would have been wiser keeping Carlos Fernandez for 2019/20.

I’ll be honest, I don’t want any Valencia player that was on this recent team in my team. They lacked the courage and fight to see them through to Europe. While they have talent, their wasn’t a desire and that starts with their captain Parejo.

That’s not too long ago, the one which convinced me the dutch league could be inflated is Afonso Alves, guy scored more than he played with 45 goals in 39 appearances. Middlesbrough paid a hefty sum for him but he could find the same form in the Premier League, lasted for 1.5 seasons before moving to Saudi Arabia.

Just trying our amateur scouting and football knowledge of obscure players in real-life. :stuck_out_tongue:, I try the same approach with Sevilla in every FM game and it’s more entertaining than buying every big name out there.

I managed to buy Carrico, Iborra and Gameiro before Monchi did so I was very pleased when the club got them in real life. The one that got away was Miranda, I plucked him from Sao Paulo and he single-handedly turned the defense around.

Eldes Marque has linked the club with Jean-Philippe Mateta, a 1.92m tall striker from Mainz 05.

We got linked with him last summer. He spent the first half of this season injured, so only scored 3 in 18 apps. Scored 14 in the season prior. I watched this comp earlier and he can score with both feet.

I like him, he has something, good physique, good celebration as well haha those corner flag kicks. No idea how he plays at all tho. But exactly not the type of name we are thinking about right now  uhmm…

Also I read on Fichajes, that we are also connected to two centre backs of Porto. Diogo Leite and Awaziem and their Right Back as well lol. But he´s good, great attacking stats, basically a winger who started in the dutch league as well. Being converted just as Navas is right now. But Corona´s technical abilities are insane.
