Our first signing of the winter window… A new head of Sports Medicine! ANTONIO TRAMULLAS replaces Matías Morán in that role.
Ramos? Sergio Ramos?
Si. There is also a rumor that he is looking to become an investor in the club.
I want to say no to Sergio Ramos coming in as a player, but we have no money to spend. So it’s a reluctant yes, unless Cordón can score a Bade-like miracle.
On the business offer, i have no comment.
He did eventually grow into his role last time, and by the end, I felt he played pretty well imo. I seem to remember him saving a few games for us as well. I wouldn’t be opposed to him coming if we need someone in the defense
Sooooo those Banega and Ramos-mentions… I mean, at least they could contribute with something, right?
Questions regarding Almeyda are rightfully beginning to emerge, but I just don’t see another change on that post do anything. Injuries have been a pain in the ass, especially the Azpi-one, but Corndog will need to work some magic here in January.
Fotmob says Ramon Martinez has moved to Rayo on a free transfer. Not confirmed by either club yet.
According to Matteo Moretto, Sevilla have agreed to sign Juan Iglesias of Getafe on a free transfer. Iglesias will move after his current contract expires at the end of the season.
That seems logical enough. Given that Juanlu and/or Carmona are meant to bring in some money we will need to replace them.
Stupid to plan for the summer when you’re still not even close guaranteed La Liga. We need transfers now… in January, not in the summer.
Summer is a totally different thing from now and might even include a new manager etc.
I get your point, but since the deal was there for the taking it seems smart enough in my opinion. If we do end up letting go of Juanlu and/or Carmona in the summer we probably wouldn’t be able to make this free signing since he would have been taken by someone else.
I don’t see this deal have any influence on the rest of this window.
Just hope that it won’t be one of those, the new signings are Akor and Ejuke back from the Afcon because we are in serious trouble.
The management knows better anyway
Why on Earth should we sell Juanlu and Carmona? Carmona is an academy jewel and has done well. That is guys you build your team around. Not sell. Dont get why so many Sevilla fans want to sell guys like Juanlu, Carmona and Isaac. They are the guys you should keep. I thought Sevilla cared about their academy and not only wanted to sell everyone that comes through for mercenaries?
It would be incredibly stupid Selling Them. Rather sell guys like Vargas, Marcao.
Academy players is what a team like Sevilla should rely on going forward. If they sell them everytime they come good, what sense is there in it and when Will they be able to build s solid teaM, then?
Btw, Iglesias is a free agent so he isnt gonna affect the economy much. And he isnt better than Carmona.
Because there’s a difference between what we want and what we need to. Juanlu was one of the few guys with some value that could generate some cash during the summer window which is urgently needed. And Carmona also almost left. So it would be kinda logical to assume that these guys are some of the players the club is looking to sell.
Ofc. I know Carmona rejected a move away to stay, which im very happy with. I know Sevilla need to generate money, but Hopefully that Can be done elsewhere. It seems its the Big wages for certain players that are the biggest issue and at some point they also need to build a team going forward.
Which journalist/news sites are reliable for Sevilla news? I mean transfer news in general.
It’s partly due to the way the accounts are and partly because Carmona and Juanlu had suitors outside of Spain.
If you sell a player you deduct their amortised value (transfer fee/years of contract remaining) from the sale price. Therefore cantera players generate more actual cash on a balance sheet because the selling club has paid no or very little in acquiring them.
So selling Juanlu makes more sense than Vargas even if both players go for the same fee. In Vargas’ case it made even more sense you’d be potentially selling him to Villareal, rather than a team in England, Germany or Italy.
Mostly the boys at Zona Mixta. Gonzalo Tortosa from Chiringuito TV has been pretty reliable too.
It’s been the model behind our success. We strayed from it during the Lopetegui years and now we’ve regressed.
I agree that building a team with your academy players is better for a long term project, but we don’t have that luxury right now. Perhaps we can do it differently if we become more solvent, and solely transfer out the ‘mercenary’ players. But for right now, anyone with enough value should be transferable.
I get that, and that is everything Thats wrong with modern football. Teams use their academy players to earn money rather than building blocks.
But the issue with it is, that as a Sevilla fan, you never get attached to any player bcos the club only use Them as assets. I would rather use the academy to get players into the first team and the best stays, the others get sold for profit. If Carmona, Juanlu and Isaac where bad players, I would get it, but they are not. There is money to gain from selling guys like Vargas who cost only 4-6m if you sell for 20m.
But wouldnt a new ownership help in that regard? So Sevilla can finally keep hold of their academy stars? Isnt that what they want as a club?
It makes sense, but it also leaves Sevilla without players the fans can Connect with and see as true Sevillistas.
Not having any academy players To build around in the first team is not good imo. Look at Navas and what he meant to the club, fans and teammates.
